Yes. Quite a stand. YMCA summer camps... That's the real enemy.
How about we just don't have angry mobs confronting children at all? How about congress works on repealing the 2007 law that Bush signed that is slowing down the process...
One has to go back to 2002 to find the root cause laws that prevent immediate deportation of migrants from non-contiguous countries.
Bush knew he needed at least 40% of the Latino vote to win in 2004. He advocated for reform and amnesty.
His first attempt at reform/amnesty did not happen as he planned. He vowed to try again and he did in his second term. Despite strong bipartisan support, there were not enough votes.
He also knew he needed the senior vote and signing the unfunded Medicare Part D into law allowed him to capture the senior vote.

... only to find out it was a bus full of kids going to the YMCA summer camp. I bet those swimming lessons, archery lessons and three-legged races are a real threat to our "way of life..."
Nice to see the "we don't need government" folks taking governing and law enforcement in to their own hands...
I certainly agree that the children need to be returned to their countries of origin. But angry mobs of morons is certainly not helping anybody. A little compassion goes a long way.
I wouldn't call it Xenophobia. By your assertion, these people hate everyone in other countries, or strongly fear them.
Thats just not the case for most people. If an immigrant comes here legally, most of these people would welcome them just fine. However, these are children, for whatever reason, who have entered our country illegally. Whether its to seek asylum, or avoid crime in foreign countries, makes no difference.
What these people are doing is the same thing that has been done by citizens throughout our nations history. People fought to keep the Irish and Germans out. People fought to keep the Jews from immigrating here.
Everytime the people who fought against immigration have been proven wrong in the light of history, at least in our country. Every immigrant group has brought their own culture, language, and personality with them. Everytime we bring them into American society and they flourish, as does our society and economy. Every time.
It's tough to judge people who live near a porous border with a third world nation for xenophobia when you do not live near such a border yourself. Or rather, it's easy to judge but hard to justify.

Sorry, but these were not kids going to a YMCA summer camp. They were a bus load of illegals being brought to the camp. When word got out, and the citizens mobilized, the buses didn't come. The kids are being taken elsewhere.

How about we send these illegals to your neighborhood? You take care of them.
“We’re being told we have to look the other way. If we see gang tattoos, we’re not allowed to treat them any differently than anybody else applying to be allowed to stay here or to apply for asylum.”
Of course this is from fox..so it must be a lie...
And there relaly is nobody called "Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council Shawn Moran" that all a lie also....
Quote:
Moran described MS-13 as “one of the biggest threats we face on our southern border. They do not hesitate to use extreme violence if necessary. They are considered one of the top threats to border patrol agents.”
Quote:
“It’s a security issue that we feel could really snowball out of control and it would put agents at risk. It puts the other detainees at risk,” Moran said.
Quote:
And, Moran explained, border security is unable to isolate these gang members because they are juveniles, and they are required to treat all juveniles a certain way. “We’re being told we have to look the other way. If we see gang tattoos, we’re not allowed to treat them any differently than anybody else applying to be allowed to stay here or to apply for asylum.”
Art Del Cueto, president of the National Border Patrol Council
Local 2544 in Tucson, Arizona told the National Review that officers who recognize gang tattoos on the
minors are supposed to treat them like everyone else.
Enforce the existing immigration laws and the fact of existing borders belonging to this country.
How is that for a start?
