Don't you understand? They are being persecuted! By science, nonetheless, that exists--at least according to the OP--merely for the expressed purpose of persecuting them! Oh, the humanity!
The important and talented scientists particularly in this era of communication could write a grandiose book : for the endless opportunity to what is appearing to be a "Journey Into Infinity" going around and around in circles trying to figure out what the heck is really going on .

The same can be said for you lack of being able to see God. Your not using the right filters.
Light is relative .your eyes can only see with in the light spectrum so far and then you need special light and filters to observe what you couldn't here to for see . and that in just the last few decades .
There are creatures found that can only bee seen through these filters , what's to say that some day we might actually see God?
Although I believe it would be His choice to reveal Himself as He did with Moses and many others in time.
There are plenty of evidences of unseen and unusual events that we are not able to disprove , give it time.
In all my life I have met people that have had many extraordinary events they cannot explain ,why is it some endure being hit by lightening and live, when most get hit and are fried?
You have faith in electricity, because you use it ,even though you do not fully understand it, and you have blanket theory it can kill you.
How do you know it can kill you , have you been killed by it ? Obviously no .
Has every single person ever that has been exposed to electricity been killed ?, no .
So what makes the blanket theory fact ? It doesn't .
True science does not close the mind to possibilities .
A closed mind to possibilities is atheism , antagonistic to the thought of God.
An open mind might accept that God could have used both means to create ,seeing there are few fossil records to actually prove evolutionary progression, except by supposition and connecting dots, that to be honest, might not actually have existed.
Human DNA or any other DNA for that matter do not match with another species.
Evolution suggests that creatures rely on survival of the fittest , so it is reasonable to assume that most species should be becoming better stronger and smarter, but in truth the reverse is true, and every thing is weakening and becoming extinct.

By the way, how many people were burned at the stake for saying that the earth was round and that it revolved around the sun.
