I hope no science is ever accepted by the ENTIRE scientific community. We always want people working on other theories. That's how science advances. The question is how much consensus is required before we develop policies to deal with our best understanding of the problem. We have more than enough.
Fortunately you "deniers" are busy looking for data inconsistencies while we "believers" are busy writing law and regulation to mitigate AGW. The "AGW isn't happening" train left to station about a decade ago. We are phasing out coal-fire generation plants, reducing gasoline consumption, and the most exciting automobile to come along is decades is electric powered.
Keep debating. We will keep regulating.
I agree with this post. For the Deniers, for the most part, if it is a cool day in their neck of the woods then that is proof certain that global warming is not occurring. Cherry picking data or an instance of misleading information does not take away the fact that anthropogenic global warming is occurring. C-D is full of threads on how if it is a cool summer in their part of the country then global warming must be a hoax despite the fact that the rest of the country may be burning up. The debate is over and it is time to take action. I fear we will be in that familiar too little too late scenario in the not to distant future.

It's not GLOBAL if it is different in other parts of the world. It's regional. BTW, the debate is not over, that's what you propagandists want people to believe. You are full of lies.
Denying reality makes one a denier. Either prove it correct or quit being so politically correct that people shouldn't use the correct term because it hurts your feelings. Being called a denier doesn't suddenly disprove science because it hurts your fragile feelings.
I would stay that pushing a denial of science after being continually being debunked and crying is about as childish as being an adult crying when someone says Santa doesn't exist. Quit projecting onto others and grow up. Then you won't be treated like a child.
Its been proven correct but you just can't accept your ideology is crumbling.
She receives funding from the 'B Macfie Family Foundation', which is so secret that I couldn't even find out what it is... but on this wikipedia article:
it is revealed that she worked for a right wing think tank called 'The Institute of Public Affairs', which is basically the Australian version of the Heartland Institute... with similar political views on tobacco, AGW, etc... and of course, funded by tobacco, oil, etc... basically, it's a PR machine for right wingers, and she was heading it up for years.
Unsurprisingly, they support deregulation of the environment, and are part of the libertarian dogma that thinks everyone would be happier if we just handed over the entire government to the worst of the worst corporations-- big tobacco, big oil, sweat shops, etc. They essentially represent whoever can't find representation in the mainstream, usually because of the moral and ethical issues involved with promoting something that is obviously unhealthy/destructive.
The reason some of you heard that it was all over for AGW is because the right wing media latches onto tiny, insignificant claims like this (even if they're made by a single person whose politics are openly, obviously stronger than their dedication to science) and blows them up until finally it's a scandal and the end of the whole show. This is because they know that most people don't pay attention to words like 'accuse' and the fact that this is only one person's opinion doesn't register.
If it supports the denialist POV, then denialists will take it as fact... because they don't actually care about knowing the truth, they only care about mocking anyone who doesn't agree.
The article mentions 'accused' in the title because it's the bare minimum they can do to avoid being accused of lying/libel... and they know that it doesn't matter if it's there because idiots like the denialists on this board won't read it anyways, and as it gets passed on over and over, the story will become what it has become in this thread.
Congrats on being the perfect idiots for the job, right wingers of city-data.
Explain why it hasn't warmed in over 15 years and has actually cooled.
Even the peer reviewed studies by the believers have turned out to either be wrong or not actually peer reviewed. They have made a sham out of the entire peer review process. There is no question that those pushing this mumbo jumbo AGW crap has done a lot of damage to science.
How are people going to afford to charge those so called electric cars when the electricity costs skyrocket, and we end up with rolling blackouts due to AGW conspiracy theorists non existent thinking? Keep regulating, and businesses will go out of business, and or move some where its affordable to do business.
Because none of that will happen. Electricity costs aren't skyrocketing and current generation renewable resources are coming it a very affordable prices. We will not have severe supply problems in the future as long as we continue to follow the guidance of the reliability regions. There is actually a huge among of capacity being added. We have about 60,000 MW of capacity planned between now and 2017.
You apparently aren't very knowledgeable about the electric utility industry. The electric utility industry has been heavily regulated for a century and it keeps the lights on and costs controlled.
