"tort reform" is the most anti-libertarian thing a government can do.
What is the libertarian take on tort law? Do they want it done away with completely?

Agreed.
OP, if you have a point, try actually making it instead of just copying and pasting stuff you ripped from some random web page.
FWIW, I happen to agree that we shouldn't cap how much corporations can be forced to pay out, but you copy and pasting from "The Florida Firm" isn't doing anything to help your case.
Most ambulance chasers are Stinkyocrats........like The Breck Girl.
I believe the caps do not apply to actual damages...and the projected financial impact associated with those actual damages. The caps are to limit awards for things like pain, suffering and emotional impact.

I would prefer we not cap damages, but limit punitive damages given to the victims. Perhaps cap punitive to victim at 2x actual, with any awards over and above going towards fighting whatever the wrong was. If toxic, for example, all $ above 2x go to the EPA or other orgs of that nature.
That maintains the fear corps have of crossing lines, while not unduly rewarding the plantiff.

Good question. Until their child or parent is affected, apparently.
Until then, drinking methane infested waters in Pittsburgh is fine for their 2 year olds. many infants in the WV tragedy died of unusual cancers. Massey Coal indicted.

I'd be far more in favor of tort reform if execs at corps like Massey were subject to criminal penalties, such as negligent homicide, if causation was proven between toxins dumped and deaths.

well if you asked Ron Paul He would say citizens should be able to take polluters to court.
should be able to take manufacturers for safety issues to court.
basically if you are asking for no regulation then you can't regulate on behalf of the big guy thus "tort reform".
