Kimbercuddles, maybe we shouldn't be amazed! Think about the time and effort put into hating Bush and anyone that doesn't hate Bush!
Understatement of the century...no offense, but since when does Kerry's comment lead into how someone is sure of the fact that Bush is gay?!? Is there some wacky tobacky involved in this forum? You know, maybe I should check out that forum....

Uh, no. Do not believe his P.R. Those of us who live in South Jersey know what he did to small business owners in this region after the construction of his Atlantic City casinos in the late 1980's.
His company subcontracted to small plumbing and electrical contractors to build his casinos. After the job was finished, he did not pay them the hundreds of thousands of dollars he owed. His attitude is: if I owe you money, it is up to YOU to get it from me. I know many people who were ruined because Trump didn't pay them, and they could not afford to hire lawyers to sue him.
There is more to this guy than he projects in the media, and it isn't pretty.

I agree (about Trump) it's so easy to belly up and wind up paying people pennies on the dollar (if they get paid at all). Good for me bad for you is his motto. I can name numerous people that probably don't deserve the wealth they have but I think Trump might be at the top of the list. I was joking with a friend a while back. He told me that he watched the Trump Reality TV show. I told him I would love to be on the show just so I can punch him in the jaw when he fired me! (disclaimer: I am not advocating violence). Finally a word of advice to "THE DON" hire a hairdresser that has two eyes and can actually see or better yet explore the world of hair pieces, there are some pretty good ones out there that I'm sure you can afford.
My father has worked for him a few times..on construction. His employees seem to really like him sorry he has screwed you south jerseyans but I don't think you can be friendly to small business and sucessful as him all at the same time - his job is to "crush his advisary" remember? *guess you don't watch the apprentice then LOL!*
I can respect someone who makes, loses and regains a fortune..at least he might have a clue as to how the heck to get us out of this deficit disaster.
What about the evil Walmart? Aren't they 1000 times worse????
Maybe what this country needs, is a president who grew up knowing what it is to work hard for what you want, someone who is honest, and compasionate. Someone who does not belong to the old boys club.
"I can respect someone who makes, loses and regains a fortune.."
I hope you aren't referring to 'The Donald', as he was a silverspoon child whose daddy had money and real estate and set him up in business. It was 'The Donald' who learned the in's and out's of how to s___ people over in business later in his life - You can definitely give him (dis) credit for acquiring that particular business talent.
Do you think that politicians get where they do for being good guys? At least Trump makes money and creates jobs puts people to work and does a job RIGHT. If you have ever listened to his rare interview where he will talk about politics you will find he is quite intelligent.
DD would be on a jobsite and all of a sudden there would be the Donald doing an unannounced visit to see how things were running.
Seriously, the suggestion that he would run for pres was in jest, but I would not mind hearing more of his views about running the fed and how to stimulate our economy, reduce our debt. In that sense he is a genius.
I'd agree with a lot of posts above regarding Presidential/Wannabe Presidential speakers.
Another great speaker (but not a President): Martin Luther King
Of all the people out there now, politically, that I've heard speak, I think Barack Obama is a great speaker. His keynote address at the Democratic Convention in 2004 was one of those speeches that just makes you feel incredibly proud to be an American. Even the Free Republic posters (who normally can't stand any Dems) were taken back and could only say "He should be a Republican." I look forward to hearing more from him, if only to see if he gives me that *excited to be an American* feeling again.
There are a handful of other politicans out there who speak well when they are passionate on a subject.
The one thing the Republican party does well is get people to vote against their own best interests. What they're REALLY all about is creating an aristocracy that includes themselves and their rich CEO buddies, but they can't get any votes that way, so they pander to racists, homophobes, and xenophobes, and make people afraid by keeping them in a state of constant war, all to get enough other people to go along with them. That's why they constantly have to resort to campaigns of fear, smear, and distortion- they know that if they showed their agenda for what it really is, no one in their right mind would vote for them.
we can add wife-beating and complete disrespect for consequences to this list of Republican "values". Rep. John Sweeney (R-NY) apparently beats his wife, including putting her in a choke hold, and blames Democrats for the prosecution of his son's felony conviction for fracturing a man's skull during a fight.
The good news is that he is getting his butt kicked in the polls in his re-election bid. Only six more days until the grown-ups are back in charge of Congress.
