Now on to the 5th circuit.
Why do gay people want the title of Marriage in which they are opposite of traditional Marriage, between One Man and One Women. Again a small group trying to change the traditional values of America.

It would be much easier for gays to accept the title of Civil Union, with all the rights this country has to offer.

To many Christians , gay marriage will never be acceptable on any level.. God help them!

Which shows you didn't read the judges decision.

1. No state civil union has the same rights and legal protections that marriage has.

2. No civil union is federally recognized.

3. Even civil unions and domestic partnerships have been banned to us in many states.

4. Christians do not own civil marriage. They need to get over it. Atheists, Buddhists, Muslims, Satanists, and any other religion or non religion can and do get civil marriage licenses.

It is not possible for us to "accept" something that was never offered.
Maybe you guys should have thought about that when you were banning any recognition or protections for us. NOW that we are finally being granted equal protection of the laws you are whining about civil unions.

We used to believe, during all our years together, that we didn't need to be married or have some silly piece of paper to prove our love and commitment to each other. Then we each thought, well maybe something that would cement our legal status was sufficient. We were wrong on both accounts.

With all are years to together, you would think that some piece of paper would not make a difference. It does. Something has changed in our relationship--it is even more wonderful than before. And trust me, it is baffling to understand how a longterm relationship can improve because of a piece of paper and a ceremony presided by a chaplain.

The marriage license cements our love and commitment as no different in the eyes of the state. We are not superior to you nor you over us. We are equal in the eyes of the law. And it does feel different!

Looks like times are changing for some evangelicals too. God Bless them!

On the planet where you are from, maybe so.

On *this* planet, marriage is all about law. You can get a marriage license without any religion whatsoever. But a hundred wedding ceremonies in a hundred churches will not make you married in the sight of the law, unless one of those ceremonies entails the issuance of a marriage license. Otherwise you are shacking up. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)

If we want to stop gay marriage by the state, then heterosexual marriage should not be allowed. All 'marriages' should be classified as civil unions.

Un-believable.

!.Well the Civil union points may have to be changed to suit these SSM advocates.

2.No Christians do not own the word Marriage. But in many of these religions it is still regarded, as a sin one form or anther.
3.. This country was made on Christian Values and it still remains the few is trying to change the many.

4.It will remain a sin, even if the courts rule against traditional Marriage. Groups like these are eroding American Traditions and sending a wrong message to our kids.

5.Most do not accept the life style and those who engage will never really accept Mrs. and Mrs. April Smith.:s mack:

It is written in the Old Testament and the New Testament it is a sin. To Confuse a Marriage with one Man and one women compares nothing to a misguided liberal concept of marriage.

Go ahead and get you Civil union for the benefits of marriage. Please do call it a Marriage. It offends most Christians.

Offending Christians is my Constitutional right and an enjoyable pastime.

If the people who founded the country wanted the Bible to be the law of the land, they could have easily made it so, but they didn't.
