I think it is just the OPPOSITE.

50 years ago kids took there rifles and shotguns to school with them

Many city schools had shooting teams, etc.

While a gun should be kept is a safe place, what good is an un-loaed gun if someone breaks in?

Are you going ask for a time out while you go find your gun, unlock the box it is in and remover the trigger lock?

Do you have every single thing that is harmful to kids locked up? Bleach, ammonia, etc.?

I don't think the picture is as rosy as you think.

Murders in the UK

And ALL this WHILE GUNS ARE BANNED. Shouldn't the number of crimes commuted with a gun be ZERO?
LOL....Love the last line of the article:

I've lived in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and several small towns in between. I grew up in south Texas in the 80's and 90's. In my adult life I have lived all over including Texas as recently as 2009. I have family in both Texas and Washington, so I've spent a considerable amount of time in both states my whole life.

I did back it up. Wa has far less urban population than TX, and literally no gang culture.

It's just common sense

Both WA and Texas are open carry states. What part of that is hard to understand for you? Seems pretty cut and dry..........no?

Default You are Tracking.

I am sure those who loth guns and gun ownership are cringing as we speak. You are on track and defending Home a Family is a God Given right!

Carrying out side is a more difficult. I work in south Florida and having a firearm is a must. Actually I feel safer in the Desert than the urban jungle. If you have travel to Ft. Lauderdale and or Miami you will see blue lights every where. One would think there is a pitch battle in the streets.

If one used common sense carrying a concealed in a Mall or Walmart. But think about it one moment?

A international Mall like the Saw Grass Mall in /sunrise is a hot bed of many nationals in one place and it busy 8 days a week. This is actually a high risk Mall and I would carry a concealed sidearm.
On the other hand I been in Malls where there is a security visible and I feel safe.

The key is always be aware of your surroundings and avoid suspicious areas or situations.

Clearly not everyone is. It's obvious some people get all of their information from either Hollywood or HCI. You can always tell who they are because what they "know" rarely relates to reality.

So you say. And you seem to be proud of it, which is great. Thus? Not that you are required to in the least...why don't post all this experience you have on a profile? After all, you doing it here, but not there...

Of course it is common sense, but you are obviously attempting to, in making your "point", steer the argument in a different direction. Demographics are different, of course. But what does that have to do with this "point" you seem to be originally trying to take...?

No. Texas as of yet, does not permit "open carry" for handguns. I hope we eventually do, but that was not what you are talking about. Long guns and shotguns are a different matter.

Yep, I am from Texas. Dam proud of it! Where are you from...or feel like you are from?

Yeah, I will live my life in fear...yet I will be prepared if that "fear" (as you call it! LMAO) should become a reality. But anyway, that is wonderful that you live around "educated" people. However, I bet a dollar to a donut, those same folks will being praying like hell if -- in that small chance -- they might be assaulted, robbed, raped, mugged, home-invaded, car-jacked, or in a situation they are in a place that will later become front page news for a mass-shooting (always in no-carry zones), they will be cowering and praying like hell someone has a gun to stop the bad guy. Or wish they had one themselves.

Spare your balony, it doesn't fool anyone. Your stats are based on false info, and make not a lick of difference if real lives are in danger. When that happens? Then all "gun-control" laws become irrelevant for the very simple fact, it is immediate survivial.

While I am not the best guy with words, I did recently find an article that expresses most, if not all of my views about carrying every day.

I carry a gun every day - TheGazette
