Craig Stephen Hicks, the murderer, despises all religions equally. His social media posts are full of criticism and ridicule of all religions, especially Islam and Christianity.

At this time, however, we don't have a reason to believe that the victims were targeted due to their religion, so I am waiting to gather more verifiable information rather than jumping to conclusions. We do know that the shooter and at least two of the three victims had been involved in a dispute about parking spaces. Of course, this in no way justifies their murder at the hands of a freaking idiot but let's not make assumptions about motive till we know more.
You are wiser than Fox news, who has already gathered the evidence, apparently held the trial and reached a verdict. That is some good reporting right there, no bias to see....

(FWIW, I live and work very near Ch. Hill. not that it matters, but this hits home for me.)

Nice try, though.

Actually, the Fox headline is this:

Quote:
Parking dispute, not bias, triggered triple murder, say NC police
Parking dispute, not bias, triggered triple murder, say NC police | Fox News

Is there something incorrect about that headline or this statement in the article?

The murder of three North Carolina college students was motivated by an ongoing dispute over a parking space, despite widespread speculation the victims were targeted by an avowed atheist because of their Muslim faith, police said
The local news is reporting the same motivation for this heinous crime.

FOX has a long history of doing the thinking for their readers.

CHAPEL HILL: Chapel Hill police arrest man in triple homicide | Crime | NewsObserver.com

It is VERY misleading. The headline is that three people were killed. The sub-points are that it may have been parking dispute, it may have been the guy's obvious hate for Muslims and Christians alike, or it could have been a combo.

IMO, CNN got it right, they stated the headline and then gave the details for people to interpret below. Fox used another source to guide people to a conclusion that may or may not be true. CNN does it all the time too, no better than Fox, but this time they got it right (and to be fair, it looks like they had to correct themselves to get there.)

Since your theme is falling apart now this thread becomes an anti-Fox screed.

Better luck next time nailing a Christian for something like this:

Drop the lies bubba. I have not nailed anything on anyone. I specifically said the guy is a hard core atheist, and that there is a possibility that the victims religion is 100% coincidence.

After reading the killers FB posts it is clear religion was not a coincidence, but the fact remains he was a hard core atheist.

No that was the washington post that held the trial and colcluded a verdict, and of course, without saying, but carefully leading the reader to do the dirty work and conclude it was a hate crime.

Right out of Bronx tale. killing over a parking spot by a thug.
