Unlikely in the case of Atlanta.

Memphis perhaps.

To the contrary, I believe Baltimore residents for the most part have proven themselves good people in this.

I would have no problems living in or investing in Baltimore. It's hardly fallen, your hope that it has notwithstanding.

If they can fix the rot in the police dept and hold the cops to the same standard they hold everyone else to, I think some good can come out of this.

So Baltimore's problems are the result of "rot in the [entire?] police department? "

ALCOA called. They want their tinfoil hat back.

A Democrat city run by Blacks, with a Black Mayor, a Black Chief of Police and a predominately Black Police Department at that.

The rot in Police force must be the few whites left in the city.

The Mayor seems pretty much out to lunch but the Chief of Police had some harsh words condemning the protestors/looters/rioters and the citizens of Baltimore who can't control their kids. His support and praise of the mother who slapped her jackass teenage son around on camera was admirable.
If they give the kids another day off from school they should bus them to the areas where the looting and rioting occurred and have them pick up garbage and clean up all day. Or make them do it on a Saturday, that's even better.
Baltimore hasn't fallen to the level of Detroit in backwards loser idiocy, but its gotten close. St. Louis has, too.

This gets close to the truth of the root causes...but doesn't go all the way....

Couldn't agree more.

The Mom was on TV today and said that she really wasn't thinking about anything other than the safety of her kid. The scene at the time was not a safe place for him and she was furious that he went there when she told him not to go. She also said that he's been in trouble before. She seems like a good mom trying to do her best for her kids, and whatever was on her heart and mind when she slapped him around, he had it coming.

I agree. These "kids" should be made to do the clean up -- at the very least. Ongoing "Community Service" would be most appropriate when they participated in the destruction of their community.
