After listening to Pres. Obama give his speech about the latest events in Baltimore he seemed to pass a good portion of the blame to heavy handed Police.
I say the Police are not the problem but it is the criminals.

I believe the easy answer to the Race Riots over Police brutality is to simply not be on the Cops radar in the first place which means do not break the law. In so many of these cases the person who is shot dead, roughed up or arrested has a criminal past and often anger issues.

It is true that blacks are unfairly criticised but the reality is young black men do commit more crimes than the average person so the police come down on them harder. To many people in America young black men are guilty until proven innocent and the proof is on TV from Baltimore.

We can point fingers at so many aspects of a young black mans life that puts him on a negative life path such as having no Father figure, no prospects, little education, poverty, peer pressure but even with all those it comes down to personal choice.

These young men need to have self respect and make the right choices. Hanging out, drinking, doing drugs, stealing anything that isn't nailed down is the wrong path in life.
Most young black men respect their moms as they should but when they head out to the streets it is anything goes including throwing rocks at the Police and looting.

The answer is self respect and to make a stand that I will not go down that dark path. The lure of the street is so strong for these kids and it leads to nothing but confrontations with the Police.

If you don't want the Police to come down on you don't break the law. If you do break the law expect retribution for your actions.

Don't blame the Police blame yourself.

Another thought. It is all about respect for society and yourself.

There are many people on citydata that own fast cars yet we choose to operate them in a safe manner and we do not speed or willingly break driving laws. What driver in his right mind would go hauling down the highway at 100mph and not expect to be pulled over by the police? How about blowing through red lights and stop signs? you will catch the attention of a cop. How many people get pulled over for drunk driving?

If you break the law you will get caught and pay the price for your actions.

Society and the good people that live in it exercise Self restraint, self control and self respect and respect for others.

Be a good citizen don't steal, don't do or sell drugs, don't drink to get drunk, don't throw rocks at Police. If you can refrain from doing any of these things then chances are the Police won't hassle you.

We need more Moms to slap their kids around like that mother on TV when she dragged her kid out of the mob.

Nice.. If only it were that simple.

Man Dies in Police Raid on Wrong House - ABC News

So, you'll have to add "Don't live near people who might ever break the law" to your list of don'ts..

Don't look like someone who might break the law..

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/02/15/...entity.arrest/

There are incidents that are totally justified.. Frankly, I think in Ferguson, the police did nothing wrong.

The incident in Charleston? Not so much..

Here's a little lesson that we maybe all learned starting in grade school.......

If you provoke someone that has friends around, is armed, has authority, and pretty much personally JUST DOES NOT LIKE YOU, whatever happens will not be good. Ya think?

Yes, many cops on the street do not like blacks, especially young black males. That's reality, like it or not. Do not poke a beehive and you will not be stung!

I dont know who cops like, or not. One thing that bothers me are the reports (if true--I am not pre judging) that many of the IP addresses and phone numbers on the tweets and social media stirring the poy are the same address that were stirring Ferguson and other places of unrest

But those stirring the pot do not attend the festivities themselves, they sit at home and watch it all on their widescreen tvs.

There are many pot stirrers out there, Sharpton, Jackson, Obama and I think they have actually set back race relations in this country.

Black guys 15-25 commit more crimes than any other group and that is why police have their eye on them. It is a sad fact. This is partly due to the environment those inner city kids live in but it still comes down to personal choice. As a result of the youthful crime sprees that are common the actions of a small percentage paints the rest with a broad brush.

It is sort of the same how we see muslim terrorists on the news and we are hesitant when we encounter someone that looks to be from the middle east.

There is a problem in this country where black people and other minorities do take a back seat and they are often guilty until proven innocent in the eyes of a frightened unsure public. The pot stirring media and the likes of Sharpton, Jackson and Obama have done nothing but widen the divide by inciting the mob to riot. There are many folk across the country that see the riots on TV and think "they are getting what they deserve" . There are also many people that cannot understand why they disrespect the police.

The answer starts with the individual just making a stand and saying No, I will not break the law.

two rules
1) if you hang around with drug dealers, you are also a drug dealer. want see what your future like, look at who you hang with

2) a cop will always take control of the sistution, go ahead, run, see what happens , also cops are the only industry that legal to shoot you

Higher rates of Crime by African American's is a social issues. All races in America are paying the price for what white people did for the last 500 years. Slavery went on in America so much longer then other country's then whites oppressed and segregated as well. All of that has to be undone and will take years to do. Police brutality is nothing new now people are starting to see it first hand. Most middle class and upper class never have much contact with police. It's easy to say oh if you break the law that what you get. Why do we have to wait until someone is killed on video before something is done? Education in America could be much better at k-college unlike other country's where school for everyone is better so people are more educated. Those country's have spent more on social issues. It's sad but every city you can see a big difference between an inter city school in a run down area and a high tech new looking school in a rich area of town both are owned and operated by the same state school system. All of these things can make a difference we should never have people in the streets rioting.
