I disagree Chicago would be a lot worse if they had gun laws like Georgia or Louisiana. Keep in mind that states like NY, NJ, CT .. that have some of the strictest laws also have some of the lowest gun crime rates although I would not strictly attribute their low rates completely to gun control.
You want to see real trouble in Chicago, have them roll back their laws to mimic Louisiana.
NJ and CT have strict guns laws. Newark has one of the worst murder rates in the nation, and this is considering that NJ has strict laws regarding gun importation. If anything, Chicago should have a higher murder rate than Newark. It's the other way around. Newark is among the worst.
Something else. Louisiana has gun laws that aren't that strict. Guess another state with gun laws that aren't strict.
Cities in Texas.
Dallas,TX, 12.4 murders per 100,000
Fort Worth,TX, 5.7 murders per 100,000
Houston,TX, 10 murders per 100,000
San Antonio,TX, 6.4 murders per 100,000
Austin,TX, 3.7 murders per 100,000
Both Louisiana and Texas have loose gun laws. However, cities in Texas have lower murder rates than Louisiana. Texas, which suffered some of the highest murder rates alongside Louisiana during the 80s and 90s is doing MUCH better than Louisiana.
Vermont, New Hampshire, all of lenient gun laws, and low murder rates.
Something else. Illinois has stricter gun laws than Georgia does. Atlanta and Chicago have murder rates that are roughly on par with one another. Atlanta has a higher percentage of Blacks than Chicago(and a higher percentage than St. Louis). However, in a state with relatively lenient gun laws compared to Illinois, and more Blacks per capita, Atlanta's murder rate is similar to Chicago, and not nearly as high as: Baltimore, Newark, Detroit, New Orleans, St. Louis, Flint, Baton Rouge.
One needs to look at the individual cities themselves.
Would it matter if there were no gun laws in Chicago? They gang bangers don't seem to care, do they...
They don't. I wouldn't use Chicago as an example though. Baltimore and Newark would make better examples. Both cities have much worse murder rates than Chicago, and both are in states with strict gun laws. New Jersey is very strict to the point where guns being imported into the state is basically impossible without a specific kind of permission. If you bring a gun into New Jersey without notifying the police, you will get in trouble. Has not stopped Newark from having a very high murder rate.
So we have a rash of black on black gang shootings in Chicago? What's new? did this just start? Hasn't this been going on for years? Why the big fuss?
None of your crowd made a peep when two hundred well armed bikers cleared out an entire shopping mall on a Sunday with a gunfight that made the OK corral look like a tea party.
Oh, they were all white shooters and from Texas, no less. Excuse me.
Just a bunch of "good ole boys" havin fun.
What, exactly is your point?
They don't do it every weekend, like Chicago. Then there's the little inconvenient fact that the gang shoot-up was universally condemned by the citizens of Texas and whites in general. This is in marked contrast to the continued and irrational excuse of black on black and black on white violence being perpetrated by Leftists in general and race mongers in particular. If you can't see the difference then you are beyond redemption.

you need to slow your role there hoss.
The Waco Texas melee ended with SWAT teams on hand arresting more than 100 people. Pretty much anyone who looked like a biker.
ALL of them were held initially on 1 million dollar bonds.
The good people of Texas were all in for the Cops putting these animals down like they rabid dogs they are.
Nary a corner of the Texas population has risen up in irate madness and burned our own cities to the ground over the heavy handed actions of the police.
Further, The Cossacks (one of the offending bikergangs from Waco) hold an annual event at one of their privately owned properties west of Ft. Worth every Memorial Day. The police have stepped in and convinced the Cossacks it would be a very bad idea to hold that event. The police plan on blocking off that road and not allowing anyone on premise.
we have not made "peeps" because our police departments are on top of the situation and we are demanding the bikers go down hard... and it looks like they will.
PS this forum has had a nearly weekly thread on Chi-Town shootings for YEARS. this is not new at all.

Chicago has 49 shootings every weekend? Man ive heard it all now
Unbelievable
Not every weekend, some weekends they get up over 80. Chicago has 'only' 2500 shootings / year. 40+ in a weekend isn't all that uncommon, especially when the weather is nice.

Then using your numbers no body is getting shot on week days, statstically impossible.
By the way chicagos murdern rate is roughly a little more than 1 per day
