I was under the impression that America had the worst (or close to the worst) medical system in the world....even behind Cuba and Ethiopia

He broke his leg in France (the leftie Utopia for all that's awesome), went to Switzerland for initial treatment (another leftie Utopia), yet he chose to come to America of all places for surgery!

Can someone please explain this?

If you had a choice to have surgery and convalesce at home, wouldn't you do it? It was a broken leg, not a brain aneurysm.

It probably cost less to cover every water bill in Detroit compared to what it cost to fly Kerry all around the world just to set a break.

I love how the lefties try to explain these things away.

They know deep down that we actually DO have the best medical system on the planet.....but they have a mental block when it comes to actually admitting it!

Hilarious.

(wait for it....any time now, some leftie will produce a chart trying to prove otherwise.)

United States is the country which has the most famous and best doctors in the world. qualified students and doctors from around the world come to USA for the to become top medical professionals. and USA is also famous for its Globally popular Mayo clinic which is located in Rochester. throughout America has better medical treatment providers as compared to other developed nations. sometimes they are expensive which a poor person can’t afford, since United States is famous for its excellent and expert doctors from all other countries in the whole world. -

Kerry can get the best doctor in the U.S. It is not like he is going to wait in the emergency room.

He likely has a doctor in the U.S.

If you are overseas and get ill, you generally are not covered by that nation's health insurance (unless you are a student in the UK), and it can be VERY expensive to pay out of pocket for health care.

I would not hesitate to be treated in another Western nation. I've paid for and received surgery in Canada (I am an American) because in 2000, it was far cheaper than in the U.S.

Eeehhhh, he lives in America........

That, combined with your incredibly ignorant view of American health care being the worst in the world should explain it to 99.99% of readers.

As you know deep down the problem with our medical system isn't the quality of care, it's the cost, the most expensive in the world, just as you know deep down John Kerry can afford it so it's fine.

So, other than the urge to start yet another baseless 'leftie this, leftie that' thread, do you have a point?
