Incapable of answering a few simple questions. Got it.

I answered your question. The need is because old definitions should be continually challenged and improved upon. This is an improvement.

The old definition of marriage (outdated) is simply not adequate enough to encompass all of the different scenarios that make a marriage.

Because simply living together does not allow us to make medical decisions for our loved one. POAs do not always supply that ability.
Simply living together does not allow us to inherit automatically from our significant other. Will are overturned regularly.
Simply living together does not protect us from estate taxes, see windsor case.
Simply living together does not allow us to be on our partners insurance like married partners can.
Simply living together does not allow us to file jointly for tax purposes.

Equal protection of the laws means ALL laws.

"You advocate violence."

Actually, I advocate the Pavlovian response. A punch in the face will explain a lot more about behavior to a shrieking loudmouthed midget brained activist than he can learn from any discussion, because he won't listen to your responses in the first place. As the old Irish yarn says, "There's a time and place for assault and battery."

Alright. You're gay. Congrats. Here's a lollipop. Equal rights for all. Now SHUT UP about it already.

No kidding, and they are only 5% of the population. You would think it was more like 40% with all the tv shows having gay people.

" What's so great about normal - other than the fact that it is the most statistically prevalent in a distribution?"

It establishes a moral basis on which members of a culture agree to live by as a community.

Just because people agree to live by it doesn't make it moral...there is no implicit equivalency that: majority of practitioners = moral practice. It's rather silly to just assume the normal is the best. Consider intelligence: normal is relatively unintelligent (mean intelligence) - we should be listening to the outliers - those a few deviations above the mean in terms of intelligence, because we accept that intelligence is a good.

Further, cultural diffusion is a benefit that can be obtained by not simply remaining so provincial as to only be comfortable with "normal".

People who write rants that start off with "I have nothing against gays" usually have something against gays.

People will shut up about it once gays actually get those equal rights.

So, as I said, it's about money. A simple civil contract would accomplish the same thing. Pushing your perversions on America as hard as you are will create a backlash you will not like.
