This is the thing. I get sick of hearing about "mental illness" with mass shooters. Do you know for a fact that he was mentally ill?
He stated that he went in that church to kill Black people. He admitted his hatred for Blacks. He said he wanted to start a race war. Open and shut case.
The dude sounded pretty f***d up to me! People of sound mind and logic don't go on a shooting rampage, and callously murder people in cold blood! Was he a racist? Absolutely! No question! Was he mentally disturbed! I'd say so! See, here is the reality, being racist or a bigot is not against the law. Is it small minded? Sure. Could it be based on fear, or some feelings that one race is superior to another? Sure. Again, small minded and pretty asinine if you ask me. Still not illegal though. Now, if one's racism and bigotry causes them to act out and cause harm or the death of others, then that is where he crossed the line! Personally, I think once convicted, this idiot should swing from a rope for what he did! Given that he admited to it, justice needs to be swift. Screw the damn appeals, because now it's just wasting everyone's time!
nobody believes getting rid of the confederate flag is going to end mass killings.
it's just that roof covered himself in the confederate flag and burned the american flag, then walked in a black church and killed 9 people. the symbolism is enough to finally get rid of it.

I can understand people being uncomfortable living in a state flying a Confederate flag. It really isn't that hard to understand.
I know someone is going to think this as sarcasm but it isn't. Do we need to change the name of the Robert Byrd Highway here in WV?
I suppose so. The political winds change quite often. The people in Cape Canaveral changed their name from Cape Kennedy... maybe due to the exposure of his philandering ways.
If we keep following this thread we will remove all slaveholder statues including Washington and Jefferson (tear down those monuments ???).
