nice spin. the topic here is that people are offended by Christmas trees (try and keep up), so they're forcing the change. Not at righties, lefties or anyone else in between.
OK. Exactly who forced the mall owners to "ax" christmas trees? And how did they do it?
I still don't get it. How do you "experience" a glacier? It looks like you could maybe slide down it. Which would be kind of cool...like the Santa Land Slide in the movie "A Christmas Story".
Or like the ride at Disneyland the Matterhorn..... People need to have fun with Christmas and things of winter. I think it is great to blend the two.
Does anybody know what the reasoning for this was? Nothing I've heard indicates it was done for political correctness. It may have just been a dumb corporate decision. I am sure the glacier set is cheaper and easier to set up and take down than the traditional tree. They have already backpedaled at the Charlotte mall. I don't know about the NY one.

They wanted to "reinvent Christmas" according to the Mall President.
But it's all going away tomorrow. All the glaciers are being removed and they are going back to the traditional Christmas tree and lights.
Simon Malls president: SouthPark glacier
SouthPark mall made a mistake when it chose to replace its traditional Christmas tree with a faux glacier, the company’s president said Sunday, and the controversial display will be removed sometime Monday.
“It was a mistake, and we had to correct,” Simon Malls President David Contis said Sunday. “If we lose money, so be it.” Indianapolis-based Simon Malls owns SouthPark as well as Charlotte Premium Outlets and Concord Mills.
There you go, so there shouldn't be a problem then. I knew some nice Jewish girls here in Boston who had a christmas tree when they were growing up
As did we. When I was about 10 I put a stop to it. I consider Christmas to have become an American as opposed to solely religious holiday and have no problem with trees in malls.
Why are you thinking guns are needed to change people's minds? Do you always twist things to make the left look more loony? Than they already are...
It was northeastah in post #7 who said the mall management was "forced".

Since I can't read the article (already read my free quota from this source this month), I was asking how exactly were the malls "forced" to not put up christmas trees. Personally, when someone complains to me about my behavior, I don't feel a bit forced to change. YMMV.
