I am not partisan, I provided the same flippant reply you did. Mine was just specific to climate sympathizers.

Because "nation building and exporting democracy" should never be something America does. I don't think that the ME will openly accept the US as an invading force in Syria or Iraq, they have seen this movie before. This needs to be led by ME countries which based on their track record is highly doubtful. This is not ending quickly and will most definitely be an election issue in 2016, the American people made their wishes known in 2008 & 2012, if someone wants to run on putting American soldiers back into those countries let them state that clearly.

Enough with the euphemism "boots on the ground" these are flesh and blood Americans that some of these politicians plan to send to these countries, not just boots.

Odd, It seems to me that is what they voted for in 2008 and 12.

If the U.S. wants to go more granular, say targeting a building where ISIS leaders are meeting, then that ideally will include both intelligence from electronic interceptions as well as confirmation from humans on the ground.
Thank you.

Air strikes are a cop out and anyone buying the air strikes nonsense is a fool. Effective air strikes require boots on the ground. Air war has always historically meant to be cover fire for ground troops or for softening up territory for ground troops to take, hold and defend.

We shouldn't be putting boots on any ground over there and our air operations should cease immediately.

Air strikes alone will never win a war, we have been at this for over a year and ISIS still survives. If air strikes were that effective we would have won Vietnam 10 times over. The Kurds coupled with air strikes have worked, air strikes alone have not.

Since WWII other than possibly Kuwait when has "boots on the ground" worked out for us as a nation?

We're much better at waging "secret wars."
