Europe is not one country.

How many Europeans immigrate to the US? How many come to the US for work?

The honest truth is that the US spends a lot on its military and foreign military bases so that many European nations do not have to via NATO alliances.

As Margaret Thatcher said - updated for today's numbers - It is absurd that the EU (with 750 Million people and a GDP of $18.5 Trillion) needs the US (with 320 Million people and a GDP of $17.3 Trillion) to protect itself from Russia (with 145 Million people and a GDP of $1.8 Trillion).

Europe can spend more on its people and less on its military, because they have big brother across the Atlantic who happily spends money to protect virtually all of Europe.

We have 26 foreign military bases in Germany alone with over 75,000 soldiers in Germany alone...it is an economic boon to have so many soldiers spending some of their money overseas, while at the same time Europe does not need a large military due to our military.

It is time we scale back our big brother status or make them pay more.

If you want to live like Europe, why not just go live in Europe?

Multi-millionaire Michael Moore has made a damn good capitalist living condemning capitalism and America. Hypocrite.

I said "European countries"..... and yes I believe they have higher quality living there where the majority of the people benefit. I guess I'd like to look around the U.S. and not see so many people struggling to get by.

If you don't agree with me that is okay.

More fun to blindly cry about it apparently.

Nobody is blindly complaining. We can learn from other countries.

Out of 141 countries, the U.S. has the 4th-highest degree of wealth inequality in the world, trailing only Russia, Ukraine, and Lebanon.
Yet the financial industry keeps creating new wealth for its millionaires. According to the authors of the Global Wealth Report, the world’s wealth has doubled in ten years, from $113 trillion to $223 trillion, and is expected to reach $330 by 2017. http://inequalityforall.com/trillion

Same can be said for South Korea, in which South Korea towers over North Korea in population and GDP, yet the US is present there.

Believe it or not, it is very difficult for a US citizen to immigrate to any European country. If it was easier, I bet many people would move there.

Different people and mindset; you cannot put the same institutions Denmark has for example, in the US and expect the same results.

Wealth inequality means nothing, absolutely nothing. It is an idiotic talking point. What someone else has does not have anything to do with you. The monetary system is not a fixed pie.

Take a look at your chart; do you just love those countries with better wealth equality? Lovely places like Nigeria, Uganda, and Iraq.

Wealth inequality has absolutely nothing to do with quality of life. Hell, Your lovely Europe ranks right up there with the US.

Having lived in Europe and having many European friends, I would not concur that they have better living standards (regardless of what any survey may say) or that treat their people better. One thing that people seem to forget is that the Europeans don't need to spend nearly as much on their defense which allows them to spend more on social programs. Why? Because they know WE will defend them.
