Well - I concur.
It's not that Repubs would have been any better... it's that government in general can't run things. They are not experts at anything. All we can hope is that they can mange stuff at a competent level.
In the end, the people of Flint voted them into office. If they want change, they have the control.
the problem is that government at all levels is spending so much money on social items, that they are ignoring what they really need to be spending on which is infrastructure.

Because this isnt a local issue and Michigan is not a blue state on the local level, at best it is a purple state if not light red.
Michigan's House of Representatives has only been blue for 7 of the last 24 years( partisan comparison only goes back to 1992, im not picking odd numbers on purpose)
Michigan's Senate has not been blue a single year since 1992.
The city chose to leave the Detroit system, yes, that is 100% true, no one disputes that, its the time frame that matters. The City council and the mayor at the time seemed to have been working on a 15 to 20 year plan that would have involved the flint river after new pipes were put in and new filtration. when Detroit kicked them out of the water system after finding out the city wasnt going to renew its contract, the City manager decided to forgo the plan and skip to the end result which was using the Flint River.
Regardless of your like or dislike of Democrats, the city being screwed on this issue, isnt the fault of (D)'s. it is the City manager the governor appointed... and to another extent, the State's Water Authority and EPA who decided not to treat the water, even after finding high levels of lead.
You are arguing equal or marginal accountability by Democrats over a problem they did not create.
You conceding that Republicans would do no better is simply you trying to place blame on both sides.
If you truly believe both sides are responsible, then you are simply misinformed. And I explained why in a response that will appear above this one.
