Importing drugs from Canada is not going to get passed as a tacked-on amendment to a budget bill. It will have to be a separate proposal, probably by a Senator with some clout in the Senate. Most of the Senate voted against the amendment. And yes...many of the politicians of both parties are in the pocket of Big Pharma.

Those who voted against that particular amendment (there were a LOT of amendments to the budget bill; most of them were voted against):

Alexander (R-TN)
Barrasso (R-WY)
Bennet (D-CO)
Blunt (R-MO)
Booker (D-NJ)
Burr (R-NC)

Capito (R-WV)

Donnelly (D-IN)
Enzi (R-WY)

Fischer (R-NE)
Gardner (R-CO)
Graham (R-SC)

Lankford (R-OK)

Aside from importing drugs from Canada how would this bill reduce drug prices?

Real news. Cory Booker and a dozen other Dems joined the corrupt GOP majority saying no to cheaper medicine. 75% of Dems voted for it while the Dems which have received the most donations from big pharma voted against it. Thats the reality. And they will pay the price in future elections as more and more people are waking up to their corrupt ways which kills off huge numbers of people every year who have to choose between food and life saving medicine.

Insurance companies and the pharmacies they work with.

Again, the amendment would have only allowed them to get these drugs, not you directly.

The 500 dollar value bottle of prescription pills is probably going to cost the same after insurance as the 300 dollar bottle from Canada

Or just to bash Booker?
Just bashing CB is good enough.

Insurance companies don't work this way. At that, we need to cut them out.
