I just found the answer to my question. It appears Canada was referred to specifically in the amendment.

The aroma of most bills is similar to a septic tank.

Nice find.....So there was absolutely no reason to vote down this bill other than to appease the Pharmaceuticals companies.

These are the senators that killed it. Do you see yours?

"Will we hold Trump accountable? The Senate has already struck it down.'

He isn't even in office yet has hasn't formally presented ANYTHING so how could they strike something that hasn't been formally proposed?

Trump has a huge bully pulpit he can use. Why isnt he using it now? After the Senate struck down the bill to provide cheaper medicine to Americans, Trump's only response has been to praise the Senate. Why isnt Trump calling out the traitors that voted against the will of the people?

This is what the amendment said

Quote:
SA 178. Ms. KLOBUCHAR (for herself and Mr. Sanders) submitted an
amendment intended to be proposed by her to the concurrent resolution
S. Con. Res. 3, setting forth the congressional budget for the United
States Government for fiscal year 2017 and setting forth the
appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2018 through 2026; as
follows:

At the end of title III, add the following:

SEC. 3___. DEFICIT-NEUTRAL RESERVE FUND RELATING TO LOWERING
PRESCRIPTION DRUG PRICES FOR AMERICANS BY
IMPORTING DRUGS FROM CANADA.

The Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate
may revise the allocations of a committee or committees,
aggregates, and other appropriate levels in this resolution
for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments,
amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports
relating to lowering prescription drug prices, including
through the importation of safe and affordable prescription
drugs from Canada by American pharmacists, wholesalers, and
individuals with a valid prescription from a provider
licensed to practice in the United States, by the amounts
provided in such legislation for those purposes, provided
that such legislation would not increase the deficit over
either the period of the total of fiscal years 2017 through
2021 or the period of the total of fiscal years 2017 through
2026.
Not exactly sure how you make that budget neutral.

In a statement to the media after the vote, Booker’s office said he supports the importation of prescription drugs but that “any plan to allow the importation of prescription medications should also include consumer protections that ensure foreign drugs meet American safety standards. I opposed an amendment put forward last night that didn’t meet this test.”

as i said I do not knwo what the rules are for transfer to USA- but what are we getting ? can the terrorists manufacture death pills and ship under aspirin? and sooo happy about CVS Epi pens- grandson bad with the peanuts they can continue to lower and go generic YEAY CVS

Pharmaceuticals is the major industry in North/Central NJ and is why that region is dripping with money. Pharmaceuticals drives the economy there. No way would Booker ever not do their bidding.
