What movie depicts US soldiers as killers and rapists?
Plenty of war movies have won in the past. It doesnt mean Hollywood is anti US if every war movie doesnt win, or every person depicting an "American Hero" doesn't win. Casey Affleck did an amazing job in Manchester by the Sea. I figured he would win. I thought Hacksaw Ridge was also a great movie, and all the acting was fantastic. I just doesn't think it can be compared to Manchester by the Sea.

I saw Manchester by the Sea, depressing film not in the league of Hacksaw Ridge.

But she probably didn't read it as closely as he did, she just saw La La Land and thought he was showing her the card so she could announce the winner. He really should have said something about it being the wrong card.
I was writing that I felt Casey Affleck had the best performance out of all of them... and then he won.
I admired Casey Affleck's performance, I just didn't think the part was quite as demanding as the three performances I ranked above his (Andrew Garfield, Ryan Gosling, and Denzel).

I agree!!!.....Andrew Garfield performance in Hacksaw Ridge was incredible.
