At least the OP admitted that it was him or her with the issue - not the children. It is adults that teach intolerance and hatred. Not saying the OP hates anyone but she seems to want to censor a simple kiss. It must be difficult to live in such a confining world.
FYI, to be brutally honest. After being in the retail business for so many years. I've learnt to hate people in general whether they be straight or gay!!!
Most straight people respect the rights of couples to love whomever they love. However, I would rather not be exposed to certain situations over the public airways, examples of which are soft porn, gay lovers and polygamous relationships. This last one really grates on me as a woman sharing her husband with multiple wives and being happy about it is something I simply cannot even begin to understand. Yes, I know it part of cultural traditions within Islam and certain Mormon sects and I accept that. That doesn't mean I understand it it or want to be exposed to it. So I never watched "Sister Wives" for that reason.
There is nothing wrong with people not wanting to be witness to PDA's between same sex couples on public airways or to have to explain such to other people's children. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, what they want to see and what they don't want to see--that's just the way people are and there is nothing wrong with it.
Do you think its fine or should it be taken off the air. Honestly I could care less one way or another what people do behind closed doors. However, its a little awkward when my nephew or niece come for a visit and they see the commercials. Basically I have to make up story why they're kissing each other. It's because they haven't seen their relative in a long time. I just wish they would pull off those commercials from airing. Though I highly doubt it Boston area is very liberal.
Why on Earth would you make up a story? Do you make up a story when there is a commercial with men and women kissing?
Wrong, I and my child do not need to be exposed to deviancy.
Your children will grow up in a world that increasingly accepts love between consenting adults no matter the gender, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change that.
You won't be able to keep this from them unless you go live in a cave. Your children will be much more enlightened than you are.
The open-minded social liberality of the millennial generation is one of its best attributes.
