The Reason why AHCA is debated so fiercely is because ACA has been a Flat Failure. ACA has left most of its customer without effective useable care. That is if one could find a doctor to work with you.
If healthcare is not a basic human right, Congress needs to stop upward redistribution and repeal SS, FICA taxes, and tax breaks for employer-paid healthcare benefits.
Just because something isn't a right doesn't mean that decent human beings shouldn't want all to have access to it. Especially a country that considers itself a Christian country.
Why bother with "free" public education, welfare, WIC, SSI, Medicaid, food stamps, etc., at all if we care so little for our fellow man. Property taxes are insane in some areas, and mostly going to schooling for other people's kids. These same people paying the property taxes are being priced out of health insurance. Why should someone who can't afford insurance to go to a doctor pay for other people's kids, or their welfare phones or food stamps or pregnancies or dental work?
Wal Mart WalGreens Target -
all have insurance plans for employees.
Over 40% of retail employees were insured before ACA.
I don't buy that 40% number and I just spent an hour trying to find it, so please provide a source.
Regarding these employers offering health insurance, that's nice but let's clarify who it is offered to:
Wal Mart -provides insurance to employees working over 30 hours
WalGreens -provides insurance to employees working over 30 hours
Target - provides insurance to employees working over 30 hours
And they are federally mandated to provide insurance to those employees, there is no indication that they will continue to offer it with Trumpcare.
Many retail workers are employed part-time. In 2010, nearly a third of retail salespersons and
almost half of cashiers worked part-time. Data shows that many of these workers are
involuntarily part-time, meaning they would like to be working full-time, but are not offered
full-time hours.http://www.aspenwsi.org/wordpress/wp...ilOverview.pdf
What Strikes me on this entire conversation about Health Care is more about how great ACA is better than the AHCA. Democrats promised the Earth, Moon and stars and resemble more like an ad for used cars. Everything that we were told about the perks of ACA is a lie and the system is broke.
In 2 years there would be no coverage in many states and Insurance companies are pulling out of ACA. Americans died because of OBAMA Care and those who supped it blindly are equally Guilty of Genocide of the American People.

So your solution is to take away the healthcare people have gotten from it? We'd have single payer right now if it weren't for the GOP. ACA was a compromise.

Wal Greens offered it at least since 2004, when a relative began there, and management makes sure the vast majority of employees who want coverage , get 30 hours per week. Their daytime shifts staff always gets 30.
ACA did not affect their POV.
Wal Mart, as of 2008, insured 50%, 10% above industry %.

Although Republicans claim that even if the Affordable Care Act brought down the uninsured rate, its enrollees had trouble seeing a doctor, that isn’t true. Numerous studies debunk claims that doctors shun Affordable Care Act enrollees.

Overall national health spending has come down even faster than was predicted, as a share of gross domestic product

even though employer-based insurance hasn’t yet been directly affected by the Affordable Care Act, there seems to be a spillover effect from the overall reduction in healthcare spending growth. Premiums rose by an average 5.6% a year in the 10 years prior to passage of the Affordable Care Act, but only 3.1% since, according to Kaiser Family Foundation’s annual survey of employer health benefits.

Enrollment grew to 12 million, up by about 1 million from 2015, even in the face of higher premiums. In any case, more than 85% of all enrollees are entitled to subsidies, which limits and in some cases cancels out the higher prices.
The Affordable Care Act did not meet all its promises, including a big one -- that you could keep your insurance plan if you liked it. But health care costs have risen more slowly since the law took effect and the law has met its major goal of getting more people insured -- an estimated 20 million. That’s not a failure.
The biggest problem with Ryan’s statement is that he, and Obamacare critics, take a nuanced situation and turn it into a black-and-white statement. The same problem would face those who say Obamacare is a great success.
