Doty says the province is refusing to issue Searyl a birth certificate with no gender on it, although last month the province did acquiesce and send out the child's health card with a "U" for gender, presumably for "undetermined" or "unassigned," so they could access medical services."

Right or wrong (I lean to wrong), seems like the Baptist's adult baptism approach versus the Catholic brand them at birth approach.

Except that nature has already branded them at birth, unless they are the rare full hermaphrodite. This is as dumb as waiting to adulthood to "choose" your biological ethnicity. Its not a choice, it has already been established at birth.

I guess that liberals/democrats are gonna claim this is perfectly normal as well.
Unless that baby was born with both sets of genitalia, which certainly DOES happen, I do not agree.

No, biology assigned the gender.

I don't see that thanking an invisible deity for whatever is any worse than being so daft that you can't see a penis and testes or see a vagina (unless of course, there is something biologically amiss). And to pretend that it is either there when it is not, or not there when it is is bordering on mental illness. I was able to look at a dog or cat or cow or horse by about age five and determine if it was male or female. For whatever reason, I never tried to pretend that what I was seeing was not really the case. Crazy, I know.

Denying reality doesn't change reality.

I'll say it again. If people would didn't insist on rigid gender roles and ostracized people who didn't stick to them, we wouldn't have this issue whatsoever.

The people who protest against this the most are the ones who created the problem.

I think this whole gender switching and "four genders" things is nonsense, but I get why it exists.

Society created it by the way they have treated people.

It is my understanding that the gender of any child born with ambiguous sex organs can easily be determined by DNA testing. Before we had DNA testing, some parents just decided, and sometimes they decided wrong. They even had surgery performed to make the outside plumbing more like the chosen gender.

These stories were kind of alarming. If I had a baby of ambiguous gender, I would celebrate his uniqueness and just wait until he or she decided which gender they were comfortable with.

The health care shows "sex," not gender. They are different. Now, I understand that many don't agree with that, the "liberals" who do would actually take some issue with this, assuming they do accept that. Sex is a biological trait. There is such a thing as intersex, which is when things just didn't bake quite right, but most people are male or female biologically.
