Another one. He's OUR senator. He'll be out of office when he either leaves on his own, or is voted out.

When are YOUR lame senators gonna retire?

Oh you don't live in Arizona? We don't care what you think then.

This bill basically takes away money from blue states who chose to expand mecicaid and give it to red states who chose not to expand it. Why should they pay for your mistakes. McCain knows exactly what he is talking about because there is no guarantee that states would honor predetermined issues. Do you or a family member have a predetermined issue. It may not be covered but I guess you are ok with that.

He wasn't completely above board with his constituents. There's nothing inherently wrong with his position of wanting a bipartisan process and 'regular order', but if that was what was necessary for him to support 'repeal and replace', then he should have made that clear during his last Senate campaign, or he should have not used the issue to run on at all. Additionally, yes he is a war hero....but that doesn't give him an infinite pass from criticism re decisions he has made in a second career embarked upon after the career that made him a hero.

The GOP had seven years, I repeat seven years, to come up with an alternative to the ACA. The fact is that the Republicans were either too inept, or too stupid, to come up with a plan.

The Republicans are not a party anymore, they have become a faction. Even Trump has pushed the GOP to one side and is now dealing with the democrats. Go figure.

The latest TrumpCare bill would be a disaster for Rs over the long-term.

Rs know this. Hence, just enough Rs will vote against it to keep it from passing. This way they can tell their donors they tried while keeping their voting base from turning on them when they lose their insurance.

McCain is doing the Rs a solid.

Rs don't care what they actually pass, they just want to dismantle Obama's legacy for its own sake. McCain is the only one left with a conscience.

looks like someone is upset about the Republican majority and is trying to pivot the topic off of McCain.

I assume that it is not likely Mr McCain would choose to run again, and if so his war chest is full enough. He certainly does not need the dark money that is dangled before the Republicans in congress. So he can vote his own conscience, he is free of those chains. He can think about doing the right thing and set a better example.

The big donor class has got the Republicans dangling on strings.
