What happens if North Korea tests a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific? - CNN

When the Fukashima nuclear plant in Japan had its meltdown we had radioactive debris washing up on our shores. Who knows how it affected the ocean and the creatures in it.
If "rocket man" sets off a bomb what if a commercial airplane flying nearby is affected by the flash or EMP and it crashes? Could it be viewed as an act of war? What if the NK missile goes "off course" and affects a populated area?

We have so many people that are flipping out about global warming. What affect will a hydrogen bomb and its radioactive fallout have on the earth? The global warming crowd seems more concerned about Trump talking tough at the UN then they do about a hydrogen bomb detonation?

What can be done to stop this test?
Thats a great news. Climate change deniers now citing planet earth to push their agenda.

3. Be considered an actual country with an actual government, which will hopefully allow sanctions to be lifted from them, effectively ensuring that Kim stays in power forever, which is (somewhat) scary.

If you give these to them, they'd stop. Otherwise, no.

There are only two ways to deal with a blackmailers

1. Consider taking away the blackmailers leverage

2. give in
Or neutralize the blackmailers.

If everybody, US, SK, NK all pledge not to invade, would you think NK is going to give up the nuclear weapon entirely? Not a chance.

No solution is going to work without millions of death.

Then the little fella is martyred and their dislike of the West even further cemented. Not to mention, who will his successor be ? Will he be even more deranged ?
The only way for that to work would be to take out their entire top leaders and generals out all at once. Cut the head off the snake and it is no longer dangerous.

Couldn't be any more difficult than that silly little skirmish in Iraq that at most would take a month or two, right?

I say to maintain the status quo

Use Japan's military power to balance China. Use China to pressure NK.

At this point , that is the only rational thing we can do. It is scary though, it's like playing Jenga with a psychopath. One wrong move and are they going to laugh or push the big red button ?

The minimal information that we have about what goes on inside that country is enough to sicken even a run-of-the-mill sadist. That some of you people here can defend that regime is mind-blowing. I guess it shouldn't be all that surprising, because people like Vlad Tepes would never have held any power or would never have been able to do the horrid, sadistic things he did without a segment of society supporting his acts and leadership. Alas, somebody had to have worked in the death camps or those Jews wouldn't have been gassed. So I guess it should be no surprise that a segment of the participants on CD forums would applaud the Regime of The Doughboy. They probably feel jealous.
