lol. In the name of honesty 1,000 rounds weighs about 27 lbs. So cutting that in half and adding magazine weight it still isn't that heavy. Enough to slow you down, but still not that heavy of a load.

lol so, for a lot of people the reason they held their nose to vote Trump was gun rights, yet... here comes the Trump admin getting ready to pass stronger gun control than anything the Obama admin did. Oops, looks like the Faustian bargain might start running its course sooner rather than later.

I wish they would just go ahead and ban the AR 15. We are wasting so much energy and attention over a stupid issue.

Remington can remake it in a different shape and color if they want and call it the PRR-80. Change the magazine size, maybe tweak the caliber, make the barrel half an inch longer. make it a pretty color. Rainbow or pink. No one would dare oppose a rainbow gun. Better yet call it the Happy Unicorn Rainbow Shooter (HURS - 15). Everyone will be happy. Then the hysteria will die down, people can feel like they have done something about the problem, and those with sense can focus on actually doing something about the real problem. People who want to kill everyone they know.

Gun rights people should not be bothered. It is not any more of a problem edging in in on gun rights than banning automatic rifles or bump stocks. Gun control advocates can feel like the won and they accomplished something.
So what? It will make no difference to anyone. Just get it done and quit wasting time and resources non this stupid issue. We need meaningful action on the real problem before this happens again. (Of course it will happen again and again and again, especially if we just keep trying to ban various weapons, tools and substances.

Gun control
No wall
No mass deportations

Anyone with a brain knew this guy was a BS'er. Maybe his supporters will gradually figure this out, too.

are you having problems understanding?

Are all "Arms" allowed to owned by the people?

Is nothing banned, from owning?

It may surprise you to learn that I do support the 2nd Amendment, but I don't think that it means that individuals have the right to own every firearm ever invented. I think you can limit the types of weapons owned without sacrificing the Amendment. Why doesn't anyone advocate for the right to own bombs and grenades? Surely those could be used to defend one's home and I bet they're a lot of fun to play with. And they would effective if the Government ever came after you, which is, I think, the basis of the 2nd amendment.

The point is, we all accept limits on our freedoms. You're not even supposed to own firecrackers in the city limits (at least where I live), but no one complains about that, because we recognize that they create a danger.

Yelling "fire" in a crowded theater will get popcorn and soda thrown at you and might even you kicked out by the management.

But it won't get you arrested unless the disturbance you create is bad enough that it amounts to endangering the public.......but you could do that in all sorts of ways without yelling anything

The point is that it's not what you're doing or yelling that's illegal, it's where and when you're doing it and the potential endangerment of others that results.

Your owning any particular type of firearm is not a danger to anyone in and of itself.

Firing or waving about of that gun inside a crowded theater would be analogous to yelling "fire: in the crowded theater......not simply owning it.

Can you get arrested for yelling "fire" on your own property?

No.....you might get some funny looks from passers by if there is no fire......but you wont get arrested unless the "disturbance" bothers your neighbors and you give the cop a hard time about it.

So.....the proper analogy would be banning a particular gun altogether is the same as banning a particular word altogether.

And that is not the same thing as banning yelling "fire" in a crowded theater.

Nikolas Cruz bought the AR-15 legally when he was 18. Would he be able to afford to pay insurance for a sport car when he was 18? Most likely not. If there were gun insurance requirement, he might not able to acquire the AR-15.

If gun insurance is mandatory, the families of the 19 victims will at least be financially compensated. And the private insurance company will do a much better job than any government agencies in checking the background of any gun buyers.

Forcing gun owners to buy insurance to exercise a Constitutional right would be like a poll tax.

33 is hardly an arsenal so lets get that out of the way. I know collectors that have hundreds and most of them would be too dangerous to shoot they are so old.
