LOL no, people went out to eat in the 1980s and people recreate outdoors in the 2010s.

Eating high-calorie slop with a huge price tag and shopping sprees to emulate Kardashians as opposed to sports, clubs, churches and events.

It certainly is a very interesting time. Very-high profit margin slop and shopping sprees at stores are people's main form of entertainment.
Anyone who is trying to emulate the Kartrashians deserves whatever they get (in a negative sense) in life.

Not around me. People around here have beach events, outdoor music events, food sales for various causes and parties (on land and on boats).

Stick with YouTube videos, OP. Real life doesn't seem to be your forte.

I miss the good old days before 2000 when people weren't always spouting off about the good old days.

To be fair it's not like obesity isn't a serious problem now.

I went to a hip little restaurant in the city last weekend and most of the younger women there were obese. Not chunky, obese. I don't get it, they are too young for that and a two thousand calorie Starbucks "coffee" every day isn't worth it.

It's too many calories and too little physical activity. That changed from the 1980s to now, so it is relevant.

Maybe you should get out more instead of sitting in a basement pounding on a keyboard.

True that. Around here people are hunting, fishing, boating (big time), going to festivals and outdoor art shows, bowling, watching movies outdoors, attending antique shows and flea markets, ... the list goes on and on. I (almost) feel sorry for the OP if his perceived options are limited to mass consumption of food.

another individual experiencing life thru a smart phone.... as opposed to experiencing life?

youtube is no substitute for reality.

I spent part of the Christmas break camping with more than 500 other people. Our town has multiple concerts and movies on the square every year. we have an amphitheater that shows plays etc.
