The "socialist" European countries in many ways are more money grubbing than Americans. Do you typically get charged for tap water in American restaurants? Nope, but I did constantly in Germany.

You get charged to use public restrooms, as well.

Ummm ... not to defend so-called Socialism, but that is incorrect.

Europeans by and large do not drink tap water. They drink bottled. So when you asked for water in a restaurant, you are give bottled and charged accordingly.

Cultural misunderstanding, not Socialism or Greed.

lol, you think its the working stiff they are talking about? labor as a share of GDP has declined and costs of labor at the very top has skyrocketed. Sounds like your spiel about America's RETIRED people having tens of trillions in the stock market. Its not freakin' Joe Sixpack you're talking about when the top 10% own 83% of the stock.

As long as labor is unorganized while capital is highly organized, workers lose. Its like a lone ranger up against a well equipped platoon. Talking points about boot straps are just part of the cruel joke played on salt of the earth Americans struggling to get by in a society ruled by an economic elite addicted to greed and power.

Yes. The same is true of small businesses, as well.

Check out the web site. The benefits don't stop there.

the nations of the EU have managed to avoid corporate capture unlike the US which has been wholly captured years ago. (powell memo is online and outlines the plan)

One interesting aspect of this is lobbying. American corps arrive or expand in the EU and believe they can push policy on the EU the same way they do in the USA. But they quickly learn the EU has a defence against the dark arts of the lobbyist.
In the EU many positions are appointed and they are appointed by civil servants and they are not replaceable by political parties. Thus a national competition authority they are not beholden to T mobile or threatened by them either. Intel, MSFT , google, FOX etc find it much harder to abuse the EU . in fact lobbying tends to be about a coin flip in the EU, while lobbying in the US is an 80 to 90% probability of success.

Thus we see bullshat like Comcast having zero competition and virtually no oversight, while most EU nations have true competition.

worth noting the US has better registration rules than the EU by a wide margin, but the US has a huge hidden base of lobbyists and allows foreign lobbyists to legally influence our federal gov...

lol, you are desperate. its totally irrelevant what the average is. And particularly irrelevant what ONE single company does. Just admit it. You want Latin American oligarchy in America and think you'll be better off when that happens.

Actually, it's the Dems who want to turn the US into Latin America. You might want to think about who's opposed to deporting illegal aliens, who's against building a wall and strengthening our Southern border, and which cities and states have declared themselves to be "sanctuaries." They're the ones importing poverty. Deliberately. They wish to turn the US into Latin America. And they're doing so, literally. [
