I demonize both. If there were no guns mentally ill wouldn’t have access to them. Why is gun violence damn near non existent in Austraila? Because after that last big mass shooting they had they made it difficult for people to have guns.
Yep. It can be done, but first there has to be the will to do it. And right now, we as a country don't seem to have that will. We are fine with the carnage as long as no one has to give up their precious guns.
Guns before human lives seems to be our creed in America. And that's shameful.

The timing of the tweet is a little insenstive but I don't disagree with him. There were so many warning signs that this tragedy could/should have been prevented.

For the record, the moron who shot at the congress critters I considered mentally ill even after it was revealed he was a Sanders supporter.
The pretense comes from the self-delusional right where weapons of mass butchery are defended and specious arguments made because they value their right to have access to those weapons over the lives of the victims.
American politics is not about solving problems but winning votes.
If solving a problem does not lead to more votes, no one bothers to do it.
