Some of you folks are playing with fire, what's going to happen when the next mass shooting happens? If it's another school shooting then the 2nd amendment won't protect you from parents.

Hasn't our latest national tragedy with gun violence coincided with our latest national lust for guns (and easing of gun restrictions)?

It's sad that school shootings are an American phenomenon. Is having the ability to own an AR in the current system worth these types of consequences?

Another, I have no clue what I'm talking about. Have you ever even held a firearm? Twenty thousand existing guns. Do you blame regular people for drunk driving?

So far, I have not seen anything substantial from either side that is going to help with these tragedies.

All I keep seeing from the left is , ban, ban, ban, .....effing same rhetoric as always. No actually valid solutions to the root cause. And from the right, we try to provide facts, we try to instill some rational thinking but in the end are just forced to hold our ground and not budge.

Either thing is not going to help. The thing I don't get is , these so called politicians are paid to think, paid to come up with solutions yet not a single thing has come out. Have these people never had to problem solve ? Maybe we need to send up some teams of six sigma black belts and do a statistical analysis on the issue.
What people don't understand, is as a whole firearms violence has gone down since it's peak in 1993, all while more firearms have been sold on a record basis. What we've gotten down to two major issues though is the inner city violence and these mass shootings. The inner city violence has actually been getting better, but he mass shooting thing has gotten worse. Why aren't the powers that be, addressing these facts ? Why aren't they drafting up valid solutions, instead of dividing a country that is already extremely divided ? Seems to me the political party that could and would actually come to the table with something rational, that could actually work, without violating rights would be a winner.

Instead they focus on the evil black rifle, bump stocks and an minimum age...

All regulations are evil because they prevent businesses from making profits at the expense of public health and safety.

Since the founding of this country, we have seen a steady erosion of our freedoms. Thomas Jefferson had the freedom to own slaves, a freedom that was tragically lost because of Abraham Lincoln and the civil war. Thomas Jefferson was free to profit from slavery, so why shouldn’t today’s businesses be allowed to profit from low wages, dangerous working conditions, and selling dangerous products to the public? I don’t see why so many Americans have been willing to tolerate the steady loss of freedom since 1776. To me, it looks like we are trading freedom for a little security. Are we willing to give up freedom for paltry securities like safe food, safe drugs, safe work environments, and consumer products that won’t burn down your house?

Emotionalism and ideology trump logic and reason. You will see changes that have zero impact on shootings.

Ban the AR and someone walks in with a mini-14. Same rate of fire, same caliber but without all the “evil” look of an AR. So you ban that, but another firearm fills the void and you ban that ad Infinitum.

Won’t work.
