Oh please, I've never owned a gun, and have never needed one. What crime infested holes do you frequent that you need one for protection?

To highlight the ease it is to kill with such weapons. An individual doesn't need any formal training or skill to be able to mass murder 60 people and injure 850 at distance or up close. I thought that point was pretty self explanatory.

Pistols are far more common, hence they are used more. And yeah they are a huge problem in this country. We are discussing the AR-15 here specifically because of its more recent used in mass shootings. I would imagine comprehensive gun control measures would absolutely include semi-auto handguns.
So you don't have a clue what "comprehensive gun control" really is except to parrot the echo chamber, correct?

The AR platform is getting the attention now since it has been recently used in several large scale public shootings here in America

Sandy Hook
Parkland
Las Vegas
Texas Church
Orlando Night Club
San Bernardino

I would imagine the restrictions being placed on AR-15's would carry over to AK's, SKS, Ruger Mini-14's and other large capacity semi-auto rifles.
Following your logic they should also ban all rental trucks as they've killed way more over the years in mass killings...

No, but we can ban those that have certain characteristics, like detachable magazines, pistol grips, foldable stock and flash suppressors.

I found an interesting article, it states that:

"Adam Lanza, the 20-year-old was able to fire at least 154 rounds in an attack lasting just 264 seconds" https://www.rollingstone.com/politic...choice-w451452

In my opinion any weapon designed to fire that many rounds in 4 minutes is an assault weapon and just because it's a semi-auto does not mean it's not a dangerous weapon with no other purpose than to engage in an assault of human beings.

And from the same source, it seems that gun manufacturers are worried that people are getting bored with the AR-15 so they are creating new and deadlier variants:

"The industry itself is warning of an "AR-15 bubble" and a market that has "matured." It is seeking to replace waning AR profits, warns Sugarmann of the Violence Policy Center, by rolling out even deadlier weapons. That new arsenal includes "next-generation ARs" like the Orlando gun. It means assault pistols – Uzi-size AR-15 variants with shortened muzzles. Shotguns are getting the AR-15 treatment: transformed into semi-automatic assault weapons, equipped with high-capacity magazines. A Georgia company has even revived the Nazi Sturm-gewehr, offering what it calls a "modern interpretation of the classic StG 44."

But just think, an AR-15 will turn any beta male into a chest pounding, testosterone overloaded alpha male!
