The US economy is world's largest single economy by almost every measure. It will continue to be the world's largest single economy even if trends persist for another two decades.
So, no worries, Trump can personally take a dump on every world leader's desk and the US will still be relevant.
The point is that the lives of Americans have been sold by economic and liberal elite to other countries for bargain prices. America deserves better. In the meantime, you, however, can feel proud when a world leader who runs a country with no Fortune 50 company lectures us.
Even if you believe this, you don't accomplish things by pissing off your allies.

That's not the case. Regarding GDP PPP, which is the preferred way to compare different countries, China is already the biggest economy today, with its lead becoming bigger and bigger. It's logical as China has more than 4 times as many citizens and as the country is catching up, the giant population will make the difference.
And no, a country which accounts for only 4% of the world population, can not afford to alienate other countries.
Fortune 50 is an irrelevant measure because the real strength of an economy comes from its small and medium-sized firms, not the big ones.

Yet you feel it's perfectly acceptable for Trump to publicly ridicule and insult any person large or small that suits him?

Oh, man.
What's now important to you guys isnt that a national and world leader is a person of great intelligence and wisdom; it's not that a leader has a solid understanding of basic history and (global) economics; it's not that he/she fully understands the issues and can discuss them, clearly and effectively; it's not that he/she commands and shows respect; it's not that he/she practices what he/she demands of others.
No. Oh, no. What y'all think makes an effective national and global leader is someone who owns a Fortune 50 company.
Honestly, the P&OC thread is an alternate universe. No wonder I have to take frequent breaks from it.

The President is negotiating.
