It's more than a mere hat with a logo, it's an insult that has become seen as a dunce cap by the rest of the world.
America has always been a great nation, there has never been any question of that and the American people as well as the rest of the world have always known, always believed that America IS great. Until recently.
So who was it that recently lied and cast doubts into your minds about yourselves and convinced you that America was no longer great? Why did you allow him to make you lose faith in yourselves and your country? Why did you let him make you believe that the mighty has fallen and needs to be made great again? Why did you let him convince you that your allies are your enemies and let him turn you into a friendless nation whose leader can't be trusted?
The whole lot of the hat wearing, logo preaching MAGA group have been duped and manipulated by a deceiver and made to look like fools, and they advertise their foolishness and lack of faith in themselves and their allies by wearing his dunce cap.
For God's sakes, what is the matter with you people, how could you have let yourselves become so used and manipulated by a lying bully of a salesman who treats America and it's people like it's a rusted out used car lot?
It's just entertaining seeing some lose their minds over clothing. It really is funny. It reminds me of how Keith Obermann used to go nuts on MSNBC. It was pure entertainment.
Like black people being upset over a KKK outfit? Just clothing? Symbols and clothing have meaning.
If you can't understand that, then you can't understand history.
You can't possibly be serious? Did you read Chevy's post #170? Or are you here to dismiss the Canadian mindset as unimportant in this Canadian story?
Nothing to do with Canada? Trump and his insults to Canada, his lies about Canada and his threats to the Canadian people?
If you think that anything that is just a Trump thing, isn't spilling over your borders, then you are naive.
One of his advisor's stating that there is a " special place in hell " for Trudeau because Trudeau DARE say that Canada will not be pushed around in trade talks?
When MAGA came out, it was just a campaign slogan. The guy may have been anti-Canada, or not. It's likely not, if he was actually in Canada on a vacation. Like a lot of people, he made not even have made the connection.
Zoiste was being generous, I admit, but overall the goodwill and feelings about the US OUTSIDE of the US with it's allies, is being destroyed. What was left anyway.

Either way, the man is a fool and got challenged on being a fool. However, I doubt it. He got upset without the manager saying anything except asking him to remove his hat.
If it were an ordinary hat, I doubt he would of complained in the way that he did.
He knew exactly what that hat meant and if not directly how it is insulting to Canadians, but how it could be interpreted in a foreign country. After all if you are going to wear political gear, you should be at least politically aware.
If I were foolish enough to do something similar, and was ignorant as to why my hat may be insulting, I would have asked the manager " why?".
I then would either apologized saying no offence meant, or would of left having learned something.
Do you understand the difference in equating and making a comparison for arguments sake?
Obviously not.
Like I've pointed out before; they seem totally unable to make the connection with how people saw the Southern Cross, various statues of Generals and being disgusted with what those represented to the extent they're now in a paroxysm of having them removed or relocated and how some people might view the most representative of symbols of the policies of a man who thinks nothing of insulting a whole country while lying to do it and manufacturing a perceived slight by our Prime Minister so as to give him and a couple of his henchmen license to "special place in hell" personally attack him.
Did you even look at the picture of the patio dining? In that shot there is one guy(boy?) wearing a ball cap and one woman wearing a visor(which is close enough to a hat). Apparently the restaurant thinks hats are fine if they show people wearing them in their promotional picture.
In that picture they have a tag that covers much of the kid but the hat can still be seen, and, a quick google search brought up a clear photo - yep, the kid was wearing the hat at the table.
Apparently you don't understand the difference between an outdoor, unsheltered, open air, casual, informal patio and an indoor, enclosed, roofed, non-casual, formal dining room?
Maybe where you are your understanding of polite dining etiquette says they are both considered the same thing but that's not the case here and if a man goes into a formal indoor dining room with a hat on he will be requested and expected to remove the hat.
Yes. Do you really think Canadians like a man who insults and lies about us? Wearing the hat is supporting that. Which is FINE if you aren't in Canada, but he was.
Oh get off your high horse and tell your country to stop ripping us off through trade already.
