By that same logic, you know when leftist say "socialism" what they really mean is a mixed market economy with true safety nets, and yet you choose to demonize them instead of having a real conversation because we all know most people actually support that model, the problem is paying for it and transitioning from a private sector to public sector solution when it comes to healthcare, education and housing

The constant narrative of the uneducated right claiming ppl are moving "due to liberal politics" is laughable and, quite frankly, bizarre. Really, it's just wishful thinking and misguided confirmation bias on their part.
Seems they don't want to attribute moves to the sunbelt to the real (common sense) combo of reasons: Milder weather and lower cost of living.
Were this not the case, we'd see migration to such places as Kansas, Wyoming, Utah, Oklahoma, Indiana, West Virginia and other red bastions. But we do not see that, do we?
Aside from the right wing nut jobs in CA who hate the state because of ppl who don't look or think like them and who are obsessed with trying to tow the conservative mythology of California being overrun by commies, moving to other states has nothing to do with "liberal policies", lol.

I LIVE in 1 of those places "people are moving to" and the NO.1 REASON given is the political POLICIES have DRIVEN THEM OUT. They CANNOT AFFORD to stay because the liberal policies have caused he CoL to skyrocket BEYOND what they can AFFORD in retirement.
