Most people are not moving away from certain places because of the local politics. They are relocating due to:
1. Better climate.
2. Better job market.
3. Lower cost of living.
4. Better quality of life - less traffic and crime, more amenities.
5. Following family or friends who have already moved somewhere else.
Looking at recent population trends, both red and blue locations are represented among declining and growing places. Some of the liberal places losing people are extremely expensive, and when their residents move they often help push their destinations towards the left as well. So it's not necessarily to conservatives' benefit if certain liberal areas are seeing a significant outflow of residents, because they are going to end up somewhere else ... and may bring their politics with them.
People are fleeing the northeast for the southeast the numbers are staggering. Much of NY, NJ, CT, IL, RI's former middle class now lives in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. Democrats have bankrupted those states while making life extremely complicated and expensive for the middle class. As their population ages it will get even worse, without international immigration they would have major major problems. Red states have won the domestic migration battle.
But are those voters moving from blue states making red states more or less conservative?
Red states are gaining population and with that growth more electoral votes, but most of the domestic growth in those states is in minority population. Are the blue state movers ideologically conservative and likely to keep red states red despite growing minority population, or are they bringing their blue state politics with them?
The only way to tell is to watch R margins in future elections.
The other thing to consider is where those blue state refugees are relocating in red states, which tends to be in the bluer areas of those red states.

People get what they deserve at that point.
Looking at most of those places I wouldn't underestimate the power of cold, snow, and ice to make people unhappy.

Agreed. However, these things are not entirely separate from politics. Specifically, liberal policy on restricting residential construction and failing to appropriately address crime directly impacts 3 & 4 in huge and unfortunate ways.
But why? Socialism has never worked anywhere. Do you really want the government controlling the means of production in the U.S. or do you not understand what Socialism really is? It's more than just a buzzword that Bernie uses and that other nitwit rants about.

Liberal policies dont restrict residential construction in the way that you are arguing. Cities are for the most part already developed. what you are actually talking about is demolishing old buildings/homes and building new ones.
