How nice, celebrate obesity as something to accept and treat as if it's something 'normal' and 'healthy.'

On Friday evening, women gathered to watch curvy models rule the runway during a fashion show laser-focused on the plus-size community, put on by Loft. Models as famous for their curves as for their faces marched down the runway — Hunter McGrady, Stella Duval, and Ali Tate Cutler, to name a few — plus three newbie models plucked from the crowd.

It was a fashion show, not a beauty contest. Overweight women need to wear clothing too and should be able to see what clothing options are available to them.

Some women are really into fashion and design. That interest doesn't just stop if they are overweight. I've often thought it would be a good business opportunity for a creative designer to get into.

I like the shoes.

They start down the runway in five inch heals and walk off in flats.

Where can I buy those shoes ?

I hate to tell you this, but many of the women in that group ARE pretty average. It’s regular fashion models who are far off the average. The average American woman wears a size 14 dress, while high fashion models wear size 2 or 4. Maybe a 6. They look good on camera, but if you saw them in person, you’d think they were bony.
