He was listening to what Pelosi and Schumer had to say while the president was performing for the cameras. It was actually kind of stunning to watch. Turn off the sound and watch the nonverbals. It's interesting. Trump lost control of the exchange. The president is furious because his VP looked more in charge than he did. It was embarrassing for everyone in the room.

Ha ha. You mean Trump was mad because Pence didn't step in to save Trump from himself?
it may work in the area of the tall wall but it just gets the undocumented going the where the wall isnt so tall, or if the entire southern US is a great big wall other means of bypassing it will be exploited as in trains, planes.boats or by car .. I think many Americans make the mistake of thinking these aliens are dumb, well they arent and a wall is easily bypassed.
trump, what a big baby, waaa if i dont get my wall every one will suffer,.as a billionaire living in golden luxury how much do you think he will suffer?

Not exactly. The president should be the person in the room that everyone else is trying to impress. Trump should have been the person talking the least. He should have been the person asking probing questions and then sitting back to let others try to convince him. It's all in the optics, and today Pence was inscrutable. That's what a leader with real power looks like. I'm not trying to defend Pence; I'm just pointing out that when it comes to the nonverbals, he won the day. Trump talks too damn much, and it makes him look weak.
Wasn't Pelosi a member of congress when the wall was approved back in 2006? Congress shouldn't be obligated to follow through on legislation they passed?
Yeah and trump used to be a registered dem too.....so shouldn’t he be required to follow through with his past politics?
Do you think the entire federal government is nonessential positions. We are talking about shutting down all federal agencies, you know like homeland security, department of defense, veteran affairs...way too many to list.
DOD is already funded, as are many other departments of the govt.
The shutdown will NOT be universal or nearly as broad as people expect.
Many seniors depend on their social security check which they won't receive.

For the UMPTEENTH TIME - SS checks are NOT affected by the shutdown.
Never were before, will NOT be this time.
That said, Trump performed like the idiot we all know him to be today. Facts don't matter to him - it's only what he "thinks" in "his brain." This incompetent should have been gone 18 months ago.
