This place is somewhat weird.

What happened to the thread from yesterday that Autumn started?

Glad I could set the record straight, again.
Is that how Trump is going to pay for the better, cheaper and wonderful healthcare plan he campaigned on?

Wrong thread. Trump gets an F from me on healthcare, but this thread is about border security -- where I'll give him an A.

No, the federal workers (like me) never miss a paycheck during these shutdowns. As soon as one side flinches and they reopen the government, Congress then passes a resolution to pay the workers all of their lost wages. In other words, we get a free, all-expenses-paid, taxpayer's-funded vacation.

As usual, Trump and Republicans are wasting taxpayer's money when they shut down the government.

Have Republicans started lining up the vets in wheelchairs who will be unable to tour the WWII memorial during the shut down?

Always a favorite.

I have not forgiven the GOP for shutting down the government the last time and ruining my vacation. I wanted to see a lot of historic places and couldn't.

It wasn't the taxpayer's fault, the government can't get their act together.

That's what I always thought. Couldn't stand her -- not sure I like her yet....but yesterday she came off controlled, sure of her stance (House does not have the vote for this issue) and not phased by Trump's booming, brassy character. I'm sure he uses it to disarm folks -- she wasn't disarmed.

I know I know -- I'm shocked at myself -- lol.

While I thought Schumers grin at the end was hilarious --- and he was loving Trump's rant on the shutdown, I still can't stand the guy.

Evidently Trump felt compelled to lash out and stated he would own the shutdown. Bingo!

Schumer could barely stifle his glee.
And there is no doubt that Trump's line on the shutdown will work for him and his base....but we can't emphasize enough -- Trump and his base aren't enough to win elections. They are the sure votes, the votes that exist if he shot a man on 5th avenue in cold blood as Trump describes it.

But yeah that Schumer green and side eye when Trump ranted about the shutdown..........
