And despite all of this madness, the Senate goes along, terrified of crossing the incompetent leader. How bad do things have to get?

Sadly, we have other compromised representatives

Donald Trump and the political action committees for Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Lindsey Graham, John Kasich and John McCain accepted $7.35 million in contributions from a Ukrainian-born oligarch who is the business partner of two of Russian president Vladimir Putin’s favorite oligarchs and a Russian government bank.

During the 2015-2016 election season, Ukrainian-born billionaire Leonard “Len” Blavatnik contributed $6.35 million to leading Republican candidates and incumbent senators. Mitch McConnell was the top recipient of Blavatnik’s donations, collecting $2.5 million for his GOP Senate Leadership Fund under the names of two of Blavatnik’s holding companies, Access Industries and AI Altep Holdings, according to Federal Election Commission documents and OpenSecrets.org.

The title of this thread is a lie.

Mattis is not retiring. He is resigning.

He made this clear in his letter of resignation.

That is my mistake. (Not a lie. I just stupidly believed Trump’s initial false statement. I should’ve known, surely.)

But, yes, the title should be edited.

Horrible news. Trump is really an absolute dunce and complete moron. It's really disturbing that all the adults are exiting this administration, because this moron of a president really needs to be surrounded by full time babysitters.

Pathetic!

What's far more pathetic is that the US wasted 5 Bilion under Obama to start a Colour revolution and interfere in Ukraine's elections, only to accuse Russia in 2016 of the same thing.

You are thinking “locally.” Today we need to think globally. Life is different now. It’s a scary world.
I hate to even say this, but I'll bet ISIS is already here. They are just waiting for the right time to move. It is a very scary world indeed.

Trump just cut his own throat with the Syria withdrawal. I had dinner with a bunch of retired Marines, the core of Trump's base. To a man, they were outraged. America does not cut and run on its allies, particularly when those allies are doing all the bleeding. They had seen the text of Gen. Mattis's resignation letter, and support him 100%. They see him as a leader you can trust. He walked out with his honor intact.
