Democrats are willing to throw in money for border security. They are not willing to spend billions of dollars on this pointless tribute to Trump's ego. No Trump supporter, including yourself, is addressing the fact that $5.7 billion is not nearly enough to pay for a wall even if it would work. So it's nothing but a waste of a enormous amount of money. What's the point of it exactly?
I love how you let democrats off the hook. Their two "clowns" Pelosi and Schumer could stop it, too.

As for government employees --- most of them know that quitting will be like biting off their noses to spite their faces. Most will never find another job that offers such a generous benefit and retirement package. You do know that when the shutdown is over, they all will get back pay. You did know this, correct?

A border wall is NOT "an enormous waste of money". For the umpteenth time, the wall that Bill Clinton had built on the San Diego/Tijuana border has drastically cut down on crime and illegal crossings. Why do you refuse to acknowledge that fact?

No one is talking about a continuous wall from San Diego to Brownsville, so of course, $5.7 billion isn't needed for that reason as the areas needing a border wall amount to about 550 miles. Thus, $5.7 billion is a good start

I do wish he countered with 4, so they could settle at 3 billion.

But the CR with $0 extended the shutdown, courtesy of Pelosi.

Dems will seek to change that, and illegals often steal citizens ss, which can lead to them voting.

Surely, you are aware that the House passed several bills including short-term funding for DHS while they continue negotiating border security.

McConnell refuses to bring it to a vote until he has Trump's word that the will sign.

Trump's word is worthless.

And his "negotiating" consisted of walking out of the room.

So here we are.

May I add that McConnell has prostrated the power of the senate to trump.

I'm wondering if "the turtle" is kissing trump's big behind so that the turtle's wife keeps her appointed position from trump.

A couple billion in a current CR , in all likelihood, for border security, ends the shutdown quickly.

$0 CR is not going anywhere towards passage. Get over that fantasy, liberals.

As POTUS 44 said, "Elections have consequences". Like POTUS 45, his party had a majority; Trump has both a GOP Senate plus his veto power here. Pelosi is powerless unless she submits what meets the approval of both the Senate and White House.

When Mexico pays for it then Trump can build it. It is that simple. That is what he was saying at all his rallies.

The idiot-in-chief and the GOP walked away from a bill last year that included 25 billion for the wall and with the majority of democrats voting in favor of!
