Read your article; good information. The refugee program per the article:
"In November 2014, a new program was started for unaccompanied minors entering the U.S., the "Central American Minors Refugee/Parole Program." The minors can apply for U.S. refugee status within their home countries, the U.S. accepts about 4,000 each year. However, it is limited to those with at least one lawful parent already in United States. This program was created so minors wouldn’t make the perilous journey unnecessarily, ending up back in their home countries a year later."
A google provides the current status. Trump shut it down in August 2017. Those minors who had received conditional approval were barred from entry. Those already in the US with their parents could not renew legal status. Reading more ... it looks like the program was intended for those minors who were in danger but were unable to evidence that they had been specifically targeted. https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...=.9e7a59775c96

Yes it is a good article.
Why would parents let their kids make such a dangerous journey? Parents are desperate for a better life for their children, and they send them off, often with coyotes, or human smugglers. The coyotes charge about $3,000-$4,000 per child, an exorbitant sum for families, many who live on $1-$2 per day. When the laws regarding smuggling became stricter, due to the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, the coyotes raised their prices to match the risk. Border police have reported that on a good day the coyote rings can transport more than 500 children illegally into the United States,
Whether crossing the border illegally with coyotes or taking advantage of the CAM program, these children have been separated from their parents by their parents will way before Trumps crackdown on illegal border crossers.

Not all parents should have kids as not all parents have good intentions!
We can read daily about pedophiles who are a parent themself, parents who physical abuse or mentally abuse their own kids.
Even parents who sell their kids or try to sell their kids.
These types of parents are all around the world and criminals have a higher percentage of being bad parents.
The caravans have desperate parents, who are willing to risk their kids and their own life’s to enter illegally. Maybe they are desperate or just dumb and eager to get on TV as it seems some of them get some fame. After all we see the masterminds behind these caravans preying on people like that.
Than we have the criminals who are career “caravan” seekers who enter for the G_d knows how many time...
Others are really in need of asylum and wrongly informed as asylum can be applied for in their own country or first country they enter.
When I see illegals getting close to the US border and waiving the flag of their own country that makes me sick and disgusted.
We came here legally and before moving here we already had an American flag in pictures as we were so excited to go to the new country of our dreams.
When we came here we put an American flag on our wall, had an American flag sticker on our car and often were wearing clothes with American flags. This was even more after 9/11 as we came here before 9/11.
If someone feels so strong about their country then they can’t be sick of how they have been treated over there.
I can’t believe that a president would want to separate children from their parents, but the worst thing is, trump had no plans to reunite families and it’s extremely sad! Will some of these young kids and babies ever see their families again?
As I just heard on the news, the 9th Circuit mandated that.

Mandated what?
