There's no call for aggravating the tiger by walling it off from sustenance or poking at it, particularly when those actions end up hitting those who really aren't tigers.

More, once Israel embarked on that course it ended up, as Americans say ... having a tiger by the tail.

The corresponding Chinese proverb is that ‘He who rides a tiger is afraid to dismount.’

I suppose your solution then is for Israeli Jews to evacuate from Israel. And hopefully they'd be allowed to leave peacefully?

Are we just skipping completely over the Old Testament now? Because it has a bit different tone.

We shall see, but it sounds very much like an effort by progressives to minimize progressive anti-Semitism, and to turn anti-Semitic incidents/speech into an exercise in 'blame the victim.'

Local Jewish conservative radio talk host Jason Rantz says that he plans to attend the event, and so will have a report on his Friday program, which runs 3PM-6PM (pacific time). If interested you can hear it on-line or via podcast. It's on 770 KTTH.

So Jason Rantz, a local conservative Jewish radio host, did attend the "intersectional dialogue," and discussed it on his Fri program. For those interested, he talked about it in the very last half-hour of his Fri (5-3-2019) program.

No stunning revelations--sounds like it was such boring claptrap that he left early. But one interesting thing did come out of it. A local NAACP rep who was involved in the meeting had been interviewed by Jason, and let slip that Ilhan Omar (D,MN) had "reached out" to the Seattle NAACP to ask that they participate. So it appears Omar is a busy beaver in trying to gin up anti-Semitism nation wide. Here is a link to the podcast in case anyone's interested. The intersectional event discussion starts half-way thru (@20:28).

Interesting point was made by Jason during the discussion. As usual it was argued at the event that a distinction must be made between anti-Israel policy discussions and anti-Semitism. Just because someone criticizes some policy does not make them an anti-Semite.

However, if you listen carefully to the quotes from an Ilhan Omar, they are usually devoid of any policy discussion. E.g. her quote "it's all about the Benjamins, baby." What policy is being discussed there? None. It's just a reiteration of an anti-Semitic 'trope,' as Jason says.

So as Rachel has pointed out earlier in the thread, there can be ways to tease out the truth of the motives of those like Ilhan Omar when they deny that they are anti-Semitic.

Thanks for following up on this, Travis.

I'm taking away something even more sinister about Omar's involvement with this. She is not merely ginning up antisemitism nationwide, but based on her reaching out to the NAACP, she is striving to drive anti-Jew sentiment among blacks specifically. Some studies have shown that antisemitic attitudes are more prevalent among blacks than whites, so this is the last thing we need.

I'll check the podcast tomorrow. (I've had an exhausting day, and I don't need more aggravation right now.)

The anti-Semitism on the left is spreading. And for those anti-Isrseli leftists who keep insisting that being against Israel does not have Antisemitisim at its root, let me ask you the following:

Why are leftists choosing to denigrate Israel, protesting with the anti-Israel BDS movement, when we barely hear a peep against against countries that are truly brutalizing Muslims? What about the Buddhist country of Mynamer (sp?), and what they've done do the 1 million Rochingya Muslims in that country? The Buddhists won't even allow Muslims to be citizen there (while Israel has Muslims in elected leadership positions)! And what about Syria and its treatment? What about the Kurds? I could go on and on.

WHY is the condemnation focused solely on the Jewish country? Why are leftists so willing - and even eager - to condemn Jews, yet there's not a word about other countries doing far worse?

Here's an article showing the tie between the hard left and Nazism:

Why Such a Surge of Worldwide Anti-Semitism, by Alan Dershowitz — Dr. Naomi on Israel
Leftists don't hate Jews. They hate religion. They hate Israel because it's a nation with a state religion. They hate Israel because it fought to defend itself and won. They love losers, they hate religion. That is why. It is not anti-semitism.

Thanks again. And it's so true what you point out....Omar's remarks did not address Israel's policies at all. That Democrats raced to her defense is......what's a good word?......oh, yeah.....DEPLORABLE.
