The irony is that these same problems were happening under Obama...you and the OP only care because it continued on during an (R) administration.

Trump just accidentally stated the first true thing of his admin!
He said the stock market SHOULD be much higher.

(unfortunately, he got the 2nd part wrong.....that HE is to blame for it not being).

MAGA. Stocks up from zero to 4% in a year...in the "best economy ever", while the bottom 90% fall further behind the either ball.

I guess real income staying the same as 40 years ago IS making American Great Again.....whereas if income was way up for most people it would just be making things Better for the Future.

New Slogan. Make Americans Better for the Future. Not as catchy as MAGA, but has accuracy in terms of the Happiness of the People and the General Welfare.

My investments nearly doubled since election night 2016. No complaints here.

Me too, and i would have never guessed. I remember my Mother talking about when she was young in the 50's and 60's and first working that if you didn't like your job you could walk out and cross the street and have another one by the end of the day. Just about every retail and fast food place i have seen lately has had a help wanted sign in the window. Not the greatest jobs, sure, but life is so much less fearful if you feel you can get a job quick if you have too. I don't think i've seen anything like it in decades.

Me Me Me politics. But, according to the Fed and other studies, your Me Me Me isn't lifting all or most boats. In fact, it's sinking them or keeping them treading water.

40 years of no real wage growth is crazy.

I feel the same way. We are barely in the lower middle class living on retirement and not a lot of that and SS but we are not suffering and we where we are is our own fault for not doing a better job of planning. Our kids and grand kids and great grand are do just fine. Even the 2 great grand kids with student loans and young families are doing just fine.

You can't compare living in Silicon valley with the rest of the country. Ca housing market, rentals as well as property to purchase in nutty. Many places in the USA offer decent housing to those making $100,000 a year.
