While farmers are bankrupted and American consumers and businesses pay more for goods! China will not stop their unfair practices because of Trump’s trade war. Dream on...

It's not as one-sided as you make it out to be. There are a number of large US companies with a presence in China that sell to Chinese customers:

"57 companies in the S&P 500 get more than 10% of their sales from China. The list is dominated by tech giants like Qualcomm (QCOM), Texas Instruments (TXN), Nvidia (NVDA), Apple (AAPL) and Microsoft (MSFT)...Several consumer companies have made a big bet on China as well. Tiffany (TIF), McDonald's (MCD), Starbucks (SBUX), Nike (NKE), Coach owner Tapestry (TPR) and KFC parent Yum Brands (YUM) all derived more than 10% of their latest sales from China."

It's not just soybean farmers are being hurt by Trump's stupid gamble.

In contrast, there is only so much good farmland in the world. Corn and soybeans are commodities, such that farm commodity buyers who are competing with the Chinese for Brazilian crops will turn to US crops in time.

We hold all the cards in this trade war and all it takes is patience. We can live without ANY Chinese goods; China, on the other hand, would suffer an economic depression without the US.

Liberals want to quit, give into China, and put the US in the worst position possible, thus markedly affecting US workers for a generation. Given that liberals are always wrong in these matters, I find it comforting that the average liberal opposes Trump's actions, which means he is probably right. Your liberal politicians (Pelosi and Schumer) actually agree with Trump on this issue and want him to hold firm.

Are you a China shill just because you hate America, or is a love for totalitarian nations like China?

Out of one side of their mouths the left complain that jobs are going overseas to China, and out of the other side of their mouths they complain that Trump should continue to allow China to steal our technology and manufacturing methods and put US companies out of business.

Just look at how horribly China's government treats their people, how will they treat our children and grandchildren after we have allowed them to completely dominate and destroy US businesses and manufacturing industries, and we are dependent upon them for everything?

Do you have a link to support your assertion that "the left" supports intellectual property theft?

Opposition to Trump's idiotic trade war is not really a partisan issue. There are opponents on both sides of the aisle. The vast majority of economists do not support a protectionist trade war with tariffs. Putting an end to Chinese intellectual property theft is a problem that needs to be addressed, but Trump's tariffs is the wrong way to do it.

Yes we know, you want to hit the easy button, roll over on your back and do nothing to stop China's corrupt trade practices.

You are essentially telling your grade school age children that it's best to roll over on their backs quickly, to better facilitate handing over their lunch money to the school bully. Because if we refuse to stop China, they will be like that bully and your children and grandchildren will suffer.

But what the hell, hit that easy button to make your life easier today.

Trump's Failed Trade War: He Seeks $15 Billion More for Farmer Bailouts
He might as well just do a government takeover of faming, like Bush did with banks.

Well prove it, support Trump and Schumer as they try to force China to change their decades long practice of stealing intellectual property?

Please explain how you will get a tyrannical communist regime to stop stealing, if we do not pay hardball, and force them to stop? Bush and Obama tried all the other ways, and got nowhere.

China only makes up 13% of trade with the US, we can rely on the other 87% until China is forced to stop, we do not need to grovel before China

That would probably be more logical. If we're going to give farmers, who are only 2% of the population, $27 Billion dollars, we may as well take over their farms so we at least get something out of it.

WE will pay for this, not China. States that rely on the sales taxes will get doubly hurt when these prices increase and this can happen now. Stock up on your deodorant now.

They won't BUT those are our jobs. We don't win anything. So we still don't have our jobs and we lose out on a 1.5 billion person market.

There is nothing in this for us to win.
