So don't fight to stop China's corrupt trade practices? What a bunch of easy button hitting wimps. You act like everything comes from China.

Wimps? This is money earned and paid for by Americans. There's no reason farmers, only 2% of the population, should get $27 billion dollars.

There is nothing in this for us to win.

Maybe nothing for you, if you only look to your immediate future. But there will be significant benefits for our grandchildren, if we can stop China stealing us blind, before they end up in control of everything.

You are not even talking within the same context.

There is nothing confusing about it. Trump already promised $12 billion to farmers and is now proposing another $15 billion to farmers. Farmers represent 2% of the population.

I was not even commenting on the subsides given to farmers.

But, since you want my input, by doing that, Trump is trying to cushion the economic impact that his tariffs will do to farmers. Since food prices will drop, due to the tariff, we will pay less for food, so those subsides will end up being a wash.

However, in the real world, our Congress has been spending so much more than the US Treasury is pulling in, that $27 billion is a drop in the bucket compared to the $20 trillion we have, in the operating budget deficit.

Zero sympathy to farmers. Grow something other countries want. Maybe they shouldn't have put all their eggs in soybeans. Republicans screamed about money going toward green jobs but if it means buying Trump voters, they say "drop in the bucket" and send them $27 BILLION of taxpayer money.

People pissing their pants. We hear this all the time from having to give the banks billions to Iraq being some sort of threat.

It's all argued but never true. For someone "stealing us blind" they sure do still seem to be awfully far behind.

They can hire engineers and designers

Then the farmers should line up and support it too. Which means they need to suck it up. Losing out because of the trade war? So sad, too bad.
