Trump is better at being a socialist than a businessman.

I'm continually amazed that there are still people who do not know that China is stealing intellectual property.

I start you off, the rest is up to you.

Trump's actions send a clear message: China's era of intellectual property theft is over

China’s theft off intellectual property is well known.
Again, how is Trump’s trade war doing anything about China’s theft of intellectual property. Specifics please and not opinions.

The goal is to make trade more equal between the countries. So whether or not the trade war is a success or failure should be based the numbers between us and China.

The fact that some farmers aren't doing well is hopefully a short term effect of the back and forth between the countries.
Should that really be the goal? If Chinese exporters feel the squeeze they may start to move their operations to another low labor cost country, such as Vietnam, to avoid the tariffs.

What will the U.S. really have achieved if the trade war results in a lower trade deficit with China that is offset by a higher deficit with other countries?

Yep and this is why we can not win. The Chinese government does not care if the people take it in the chin. Our politicians do because when that happens they get replaced.

Where do you get the notion that China can just calmly absorb an economic decline? You must be listening to Chinese government media.

The Chinese people were mostly living in villages subsisting on family farms and getting buy on their own. Now they have been moved by the hundreds of millions, into government made manufacturing cities. So when the jobs dry up and people start getting hungry, they will be concentrated by the millions into these cities. China's government does worry about social unrest.

I have first hand experience here. China has a difficult time keeping employee's long term because when it comes time to bring in the crops, those in the city simply leave, go back to the farms and work them.

"Orange Man Bad"

Usual suspects. They can't help themselves.

Today worked up by "Madame President" Newsweek, and 98% Clinton HuffPo.
