In the study I quoted, the dietitians tried to control for that.

With the options on the table, participants ate.
But still, people massively overate the processed food.

According to the left, government has no right to tell women what they can do with their bodies.

Whilst food has a significant role to play, so does excercise and over the decades manual jobs have decreased and have been replaced by white collar jobs, which don't require any physical exertion.

At the same time entertainment has changed our leisure time to one of youngsters playing computer games rather than sport as well as being glued to mobile/cell phones or watching the vast array of television on demand.

America has always had a driving culture, and you barely need to leave your car in most parts of the US, however there is now also a delivery culture, where everything is delivered to your door.

Want any type of food just go on your phone click an app and have it delivered, want to buy anything then just go to Amazon, ebay or other sites and have it delivered.

People just aren't excercising, are doing light work and are having more and more food, which is often fast food and processed food delivered to their doors or involves driving to a giant store and stocking up, which is about as much exercise as many get.

It's a recipe for obesity and ill health.

Sadly the America of sweat and toil has been replaced by a sedentary lifestyle coupled with a processed fast food diet, although this has also happened in other countries, but due to American car culture and other factors, it has been more evident.

America has become fat lazy and complacent not only physically but also mentally, coupled with a terrible diet and sedentary lifestyles its no wonder America has an obesity epidemic along with the poor health that goes along with it.

Top 10 Reasons Why The BMI Is Bogus

No method is perfect. Wellness Program at work used both BMI and W/H measurement. Coworker was 5' and weighted 90 lbs. BMI said she was borderline underweight. However, that W/H measurement showed her 26 inch waist was too big for her 32 inch hips! She was told she needed to go on a diet and work out to lower her waist measurement. To quote her, "Do you want me to be Scarlet O'Hara with a 19 inch waist?"

How about some common sense rather than some statistical measurement?

Amazing, how trendy obesity has become. I have to laugh when people suggest "Medicare for All" when there is such shocking obesity.

The only way we could ever have "Universal Health Care" is if obesity went close to zero and every one ate exclusively a healthy diet and those that can worked out constantly.

Many of the 40% will be graduating on into morbid obesity very quickly. Which means many chronic ailments per person. Many obese young adults today likely won't be able to work in a decade as they graduate into morbid obesity and have to go to appointments every other day.

Many people in their 20s and 30s can hardly walk not because of disability, but because of their obesity.

How the heck can the country afford a universal health care system when 40% plus of people are racing as fast as they can to have chronic ailments that last decades.

I remember seeing pictures of people a hundred years ago in history books and the average American looked like a supermodel, compared to the majority today.

In a generation basically go from 18 states where less than 1 in 10 is obese, to 40% obesity across the entire nation.
Germany is another country full of lard butts and they do have a national healthcare program. Try again.

In other developed countries, government actually tax things that makes people sick or worse of, to force less use of such items.

But since that comes from big bad government, the rightwing dont want to listen, and lets corporations walk all over you.

Smoking is not bad, its in fact healthy.
Lead in you gasoline is not bad for the climate.. in fact it helps your engine.
Coal is not bad for you or the climate.. its in fact clean coal.
Oil is not bad for the environment.. its actually helping the planet with more Co2
Sugar is a nutritional supplment.. its not linked to obesity or heart attacks.
Not buying the same medications in another country for 1/10 the price is actually better for US consumers.
Public health insurance gives worse results, more sick people and highly inefficient, while being cheaper with no profits involved.

Any more lies Big Corporations wanna force feed you with, while blaming your government.

In his prime, Mike Tyson was considered obese.

BMI is a very simple measurement. While it takes height into consideration, it does not account for factors such as:

waist or hip measurements
proportion or distribution of fat
proportion of muscle mass
These, too, can have an impact on health.

High-performance athletes, for example, tend to be very fit and have little body fat. They can have a high BMI because they have more muscle mass, but this does not mean they are overweight.
