the 5 (originally 7 indicted ) of the 30 thugs did commit crimes that night, 20 were apprehended

just not the rape of Trisha Meili

the 5, still should have been tried and sent to jail, as they did beat people up and rob them in the park that very night

Even if so, it doesn't justify what was done. Certainly you aren't trying to justify what went on are you?

Do you have proof of that?! We're the boys convicted of that of those crimes?

Rhetorical question, because the answer is no.

I get the idea of being sympathetic to young black boys who were wronged by the justice system may be difficult for some Americans because they tend to see "blacks" as troublesome and "thugs," so I don't expect everyone to be objective on this very complex issue.

I'm no trump supporters, nor a fan of trump, and I don't hate him either. trump should invite all men to the white house and apolgize, also show how he is trying to implement criminal justice reform, and have the men implement ideas.l for changes.
Good points in that second paragraph. Trump could turn the situation around.

I think you nailed it. Donald Trump is an egomaniac. And egomaniacs do not apologize, ever. Even if they know they're wrong.

Trump was wrong about the Central Park Five, and he will never apologize.

You would respect him more if he did a 180 degree hard about on every issue like Biden and Schumer have done since the 80’s?

Prove they did that crime and I’ll agree with you. Since no one did so far i cannot acuse them of that.

That’s the same logic used during the Salem Witch hunt, she’s not a witch but she was in in the same park so burn her. “It will do” justice never works regardless of how hard we attempt to justify it.

were they convicted of those "other" crimes....yes

After lengthy interrogations, these six teenagers were indicted on May 10 on charges of assault, robbery, riot, rape, sexual abuse, and attempted murder relating to the attack on Meili, others and an unrelated man, John Loughlin. The sixth defendant was scheduled to be tried last. He made a plea deal in January 1991 related to the assault of Loughlin only and received a lesser sentence.

In addition, five other teenagers were charged with committing crimes in the park that night, such as assault and robbery, against other persons, which were unrelated to the rape of Meili

Each of the youths was acquitted of attempted murder, but convicted of assault and rape of the female jogger, and convicted of assault and robbery of John Loughlin

I can see why you felt it necessary to pat yourself on the back with a phony, self-protective, pre-emptive thumbs up!

Something seems very familiar??? Hmmmmm is your last name Trump?

You mean that man that got his dream job for life? Or the woman who's still receiving death threats, had to move four times, and is only back to work part-time? Must be rough for the man.
