They are destroying themselves with political correctness and their preference for illegals. What they do not get is that the situation you just described, has forced millions of us former Democrats into the Republican party. If they really cared about their call to help working-class and middle-class Americans, they would return to a common-sense economic message and give up on their unreasonable illegal push.

From my experience, most of my Democrat neighbors should be Republicans, but they've been brainwashed by the so-called MSM. Case in point, I had a neighbor message me saying how upset she was that those boys from Kentucky treated that Native man so badly in Washington. I had to explain to her what happened and point her to some real videos, because she'd gotten her 'news' from CBS or something.
Afterwards, she thanked me and acknowledged she had been fooled, but didn't put it together that it had been the MSM that had fooled her.
Trump is shrinking the Republican Party, not expanding his base, and the dominant groups within the GOP (non-college whites and religious conservatives) are older groups that have been slowly diminishing for at least twenty years.
It's very sad that Americans have been socially manipulated to pull away from their creator. The only one who will never let us down. How true that Christianity has been diminishing but for more like 60 years.

I'm a Democrat and lean left on most issues, but pandering to Hispanics through the illegal immigration issue is probably the #1 reason Hillary lost the election. Maybe the long game it plays out the other way, but that may take 15 years to see fruition..meanwhile Trump could win again.
A country has a right to control it's borders. To call everyone who supports that position a racist or xenophobe is hyperbole and bad politics. I realize that's what Hispanic groups and "one world" leftists support ....virtually open borders..... and that's why the party caters to that position. Rest assured, that was the position that turned the election to Trump.

California wants healthcare for Illegals?!?! I work 60 hours/week and can barely afford healthcare. Now they want my tax dollars to pay for an illegal to get it for free! I just had a tooth pulled because a root canal was too expensive but wait... we have to subsidize people who don't even live, work or pay taxes here (legally)???

You don't have to love Trump or wear a MAGA hat to vote for him. I'm independent and I have voted for Dems before but given the current crop of 2020 hopefuls and their ridiculous ideas, plans and schemes for the future I will be voting Trump again. He might not be the best he might not be ideal but he is not going to fundamentally change America into something that those who love it wouldn't recognize.
I'm a middle aged white guy whose politics lean to the Right and I know that the modern Democrat party has given up on me and my fellow Flag waving Constitution respecting Deplorables so I'm giving up on them.

I don’t know your voting history, but all elections are about choices.
The election will be a referendum on Donald Trump.
If you’re one of the 42% that approve of his policies, you’ll support him.
If you’re one of the 50+% that are opposed to Trump, you’ll oppose him.
The election will be decided in about a half-dozen states. The rest can be colored in on the map now.
I’ll probably be one of those who oppose Trump and the Democrats nominee.
